BLM / FWS / NPS / USFS Skins 1.8

Over a quarter (26.8%) of all land in the United States is managed and administered by just four federal agencies. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), National Park Service (NPS), and US Forest Service (USFS). These agencies are largely responsible for protecting public land in drastically different regards, including fighting wildfires, promoting recreation, enforcing laws, rendering medical aid, performing rescue, and many other objectives. The BLM skins depicted below are based upon the Owens Valley District (CA–OVD) in Eastern California, an extremely diverse area which has peaks that reach above 14,000’ as well as hundreds of miles of unimproved dirt roads and trails. The FWS skins portray Kofa National Wildlife Refuge (AZ–KGR) in Southwestern Arizona, where the harsh environment is home to desert bighorn sheep and many other species. The NPS skins represent Canyonlands National Park (UT–CAP), which is filled with dramatic desert landscape, towering rock structures, and remote canyons in Southern Utah. The USFS skins are based on Cleveland National Forest (CA–CNF) in San Diego County, where chaparral forests border the arid desert. Since these agencies are federal and have jurisdiction nationwide, these skins can be used for a variety of different purposes, including in the Johnson Valley map which is jointly managed by the BLM and DOD.
