Beta Better (but Fake) Headlights 0.2

I started a research into trying to figure out if nights in Beam are really unplayable and what has to be done to make them better. For that i picked a map and started experimenting on it together with feedback of my regular playerbase and this mod was one of the offsprings of it.

The realistic headlights mod was not an option for me, not just because its unmaintained but also because it edits the lights of all cars when its not the version that requires the player to select the light parts. Which ultimately means that on a server youd easily endup with alot of vehicles that all have very strengthy lights, a fact that tanks your fps, that will blind you if any ever points at you and that draw ugly shadows.

This mod tries to fix these issues.

Lemme introduce you to..

The Fake Headlights mod!




This is a pure lua mod. Instead of actually editing the vehicle headlights it places spotlights in front of the vehicles



This means that this mod is compatible with every Car, be it vanilla, modded or even a vehicle that doesnt have headlights at all! Thats why its Fake

For that it reads the vehicles dimensions and adjusts the headlights accordingly.

By Default it will only display the headlights for the vehicle you are driving at this moment, so every other car will still use the game own headlights. So no blinding, no weird shadow drawing and the best -> the performance draw is minimal!

BUT you can change this with a HotKey and have the spotlights still be active for all vehicles!

However, heres a Disclaimer: This mod doesnt try to be realistic or precisely be at the same spots as the vehicles lights are and there are here and there a couple things that could be improved, such as actually adapting the vehicle own headlight color.
