The automatic shifts up at a lower RPM than the torque converter lockup. Either fit a beefier torque converter to allow for more acceleration with less slip, or make it shift up later.
At this point you can cruise around in 6th gear at 5 mph. And that's not good.
No, well at least i dont think so, i just thought of the torque curve of the cadillac eldorado engine, gave it a higher rev limit and reduced the torque slightly, and it is light for what it is (aluminium block, not cast iron)
It's great! Yes it does "slip", but that's what a powerful engine is supposed to do! Breaks the tires loose a little bit, gets the cop car get a little sideways, but it's controllable! Very nice.
i have tuned the transmission so that a full throttle launch gives no slip (hardened torque converter) and it still gets to 60 in 5.8 seconds :).
