The Story of Maartens Automotive
Maartens Automotive is a luxury brand based in England. The brand is known for blending striking appearance and performance to match, with practicality in mind in modern times.
Its root originated in 1955 in Yorkshire, England, where the Maartens Auto Garage used to be. The garage specialised in upgrading sports cars, mainly Porsches. It quickly caught the attention of sports car owners across the country and grew into a household name within half a decade, thanks to its early adoption of utilising aluminium fabrication to enhance the chassis rigidity and suspension components reliability.
Fast forward to 1965, with enough engineering might and experienced personnel, Maartens took a first generation, 1963 Porsche 911, with modifications to participate in the 24h of Le Mans, in GT Class, under number 15, registered as the iconic blue and white livery "Maartens Racing" team. Of which became its high-performance branch nowadays. They finished in P11 overall, with only 2 minutes behind the car of Jackie Steward and Graham Hill. The team kept racing annually until 1972 when they didn't participate in the event, as they focused the resources on developing their first Group 5 prototype. They continued completing to this day with moderate success, with a few class wins.
