1997-2008 Ford Ka 1.1

One of my friends recently got one of these in real life, so I decided to re-create it in Automation and BeamNG.



Performance-wise it's based of the 1.3 L model sold on the European market from 2002 to 2008, however since the looks stayed pretty much the same throughout the entire production run you can pretend it's an earlier model just as well

After making the performance as accurate as I could in Automation, I also manually added/changed a few things in BeamNG:

• Added all 2008 model year colors to choose from, rather than the standard Automation-generated colors
• Added 3 optional paint skins; one with body-colored bumpers, one with black plastic bumpers, and one with secondary-colored bumpers
• Added JATO option from the Wentward, altough slightly decreased in size and power to fit the Ford Ka better
• Fine-tuned the strength of the body and breakable parts to improve damage modelling in crashes
• Improved light colour/brightness
• Added BeamNG license plate support
• Added animated steering wheel
• Finetuned the weight and gear ratios to exactly match the real one
• Added full performance/info in the vehicle selector
• Made 3 configs to choose from (1.3 base, 1.3 Futura, and Rocket-boosted)

Since there weren't any bodies that even closely resemble the Ford Ka available in Automation, I Instead chose a different body with similar size/wheelbase. I then slightly edited this 3D model I found online, imported it to Automation as several 3D fixtures, and used those 3D fixtures to build the "body"; so credit for the 3D model goes to the creator.
