I will picture the scenario for you.....

it is 1979 and the eighties are just around the corner, the oil crisis of 1973 is still in the memories of motorists, however there is increased interest in performance and power once again.

Mescalero Motors (MM) are ready to up their game against the big three. Their Mirona 2-door Coupe had been in production since 1977, they wanted to create something of a breakthrough, something radical which would put their name on the map ready for the next decade.

This is what they came up with. The Mescalero Mirona Bi Turbo, something very unique in the industry. As the name suggests, it has two turbos and an engine which was designed from the outset to be turbocharged.

An all-iron 276 CUI (roughly 4.5L) V8 OHV unit. Looks are deceiving however since this unit pumps out a healthy 203 BHP at 4400 RPM and an impressive 317 LB-FT of torque at 2500 RPM. The engine was designed to provide great acceleration when needed but to be fuel efficient when cruising.

The rest of this special model features highlights such as dual exhaust tips, rear screen wiper, headlamp wipers with washers as well as gorgeous chrome trim around the perimeter of the body.

The suspension was tuned to be a middle ground between road holding, sport feeling and road comfort.

Inside you will find a 5 seats premium interior and a premium 8 track player.

Here are some figures (I decided to add these in case anyone wants to verify them and/or compare to real life counter parts which I would be interested to see):

    Power: 203 BHP @ 4400 RPM
    Torque: 317 LB-FT @ 2500 RPM

    Top Speed: 134 MPH
    0 - 100 KMH: 8.94s
    80 - 120 KMH: 5.28s

    1/4 Mile: 16.99s

    Weight: 1503 KG

    Fuel Economy:
    @ 35 MPH in 3rd Gear: Engine Speed is 1480 - 1500 RPM
    Fuel Consumption: 15 - 18 MPG

    @ 55 MPH in 3rd Gear: Engine Speed is 2280 - 2290 RPM
    Fuel Consumption: 16 - 18 MPG

    @ 65 MPH in 4th Gear: Engine Speed is 2260 - 2270 RPM
    Fuel Consumption: 15 - 18 MPG

I do apologise if the screenshots are not super high quality with the highest level of detailed graphics, my PC isn't very powerful in the graphics dept.

Something also to note is that I lowered the suspension by about 15mm after the screenshots to make the arch gap more 'normal' to this style of car. The arch gap was too much.

    Some notes on driving it:
This car cruises very well, it is perfect for cruising the highways of Roane County. When you do press the accelerator, it takes off very nicely. From a standstill there is a bit of wheel spin but it is very manageable.

There isn't a lot of lag from the turbos so it's quite responsive, but the highlight of the engine is the pull from cruising especially from 55 or 65 MPH, great for overtaking.

If its in 4th it will kickdown to 2nd nicely and pull away. The only drawback is that the MPG drops dramatically when driven like this.

    screenshot_2020-08-03_03-22-47.png

The suspension is a good compromise between road holding, stiffness and compliance over bumps. The sway bars are not too stiff but stiff enough to limit the body roll.

I would be looking to hear any feedback (good or bad) and am also looking into creating some other derivatives for this car.

    Many Thanks!!
