1978 Wulff WSR-80 Sportcoupé 1.0

"Anticipating the 80's, the people at Wulff and WSR sat down one morning in 1978 and thought how they should go about making themselves presentable for the new decade. Ideas were thrown around, and the score was settled on the WSR-80 - a car that can triple as a doorstop, cocaine line spacer, and block of cheese at the same time. Hop in, crank up Neutron Dance on the cassette player, and wipe that blood from your nose."

The Wulff WSR-80 is a sports/supercar designed and built by German manufacturer Wulff between 1978 - 82. It was expensive to produce, leading to low production numbers and as a result it has become highly collectible.




Production of the WSR-80 began in early 1978, with deliveries taking place later that year. The price was listed at $27,500 in 1978, which equates to approx. $125,000 as of 2022. The high cost was due to the unexpectedly expensive development and material cost, and subsequently led to slow production output. Over the four years it was produced, a total of 504 units were completed, in addition to four alleged prototypes.



It may not be the most powerful supercar out there, with its power officially rated in the high-200's, but it's still a real performer. It's excellent weight distribution and mid-engined layout results in a car which both excels at handling while being relatively easy to drive considering the type of car it is. There is however no ABS or traction control, so it is still not advised to drive the car hard with no practice beforehand.
