1970-1973 AZMK / A3MK 412M aka "Cheburaska"
During mid 1960's Soviet state-owned car producer AZMK decided to replace aging models, introduced during the mid '50s. So, designers took time for studying Western European mainstream models (mostly British / West German Ford trims) and they choose '64 Cortina as inspiration for the design blueprint...and any similarity with the real life Cortina here stops.
Engineers designed robust but simple 1.4L inliner-4 with moderate performance for that era: 0-100 for 16.7 seconds, fuel economy: 9.4L / 100 km, top speed: 150 km/h, 52 bhp and compression rate: 9:1:1.
The car chassis is monocoque, the model comes with front disc and rear drum brakes, and it's fitted with 4-speed manual transmission.
Interior is made from simple, artifical red leather for cutting additional expenses, but car also has decent chrome details inside and outside.
It was produced from 1970 to 1982, and this model here is pre-facelift Mark 1 one (1970-1973), also nicknamed "Cheburaska" after popular cartoon animal.
I took design inspiration from 1970 Moskvich 412, simple, robust and easy to maintain Soviet car.
Have fun & enjoy!
