Beta 1968 Eisenach Ritter 1.45

The story:

During the early 1960s, East German state brand Eisenach had experimenting with design for outdated 311 model successor. The engineering team had created more boxy and simpler body with 1001cc inliner-3 engine, which had roots from 1930s German models.
In 1965 the 353 model, also known as "The Farty Hans" along its owners was born. It had owed its nickname to the distinctive engine sound, but besides that, it has proven as a very simple and reliable model, also popular on some Western European (Scandinavian) and even British markets.
First model lines had synthetic leather interior and minimalistic external chrome interventions, which were replaced by soft top (interior) and plastic details (external) until the middle 1970s.
The car was front-engined and front-wheel drive, which was very innovative, as the fibre-glass chassis compared to its Soviet, Czechoslovak and Polish rivals.
As the Soviet-based regimes had their own collapses in the late 1980s, this car maker established a very short-termed collaboration with Western German corporation Familiewagen, but without any success. It was privatised in the early 1990s, and the 353 model was only one little story along with the Eisenach brand.
