I dont know wether this is normal, but when I select chase camera it is misaligned slightly to the right.

As shown in this screenshot. Any help?
Btw, resetting the camera via Numpad5 doesnt work. (Resetting orbit camera works fine.)

    On all vehicles?

    Go to Options > Gameplay.
Did you set a camera offset there?

Yes, it happens on all vehicles.
    Nope, no Offset.

    Could mods be causing this?

Yes, could be. Try removing them.
    If problem persits, look under.

If you have no mods, and your game is having as many issues are you are listing everywhere, I suggest a clean reinstall.
It's possible your installation is corrupted.

    Follow these exact steps:
    -Unistall BeamNG from Steam
-Delete BeamNG.Drive folder from MyDocuments (backup your mods if you want, but don't put them back yet!)
-Delete BeamnG.Drive folder from Steam/Steamapp/common (If there is still a folder)
    -Reinstall BeamNG.

I swear I cannot reproduce the issue on a totally clean installation.

Make triple sure you haven't skipped any step I listed, all of them are needed, and it that exact order.

    On what vehicle?
Can you record a video? (Starting when you select the level)

As you can see, a clean installation looks like this:

Sorry for the thread bump... but I've recently started having this misaligned chase camera problem myself and it has been quite a nuisance to me. The chase camera starts off perfectly aligned to the default starting vehicle when I load into a map. But when I started to switch to a new vehicle, the chase camera appears to stay in the same position in relation to the world instead of in relation to the car. The following screenshots shows what vehicles I've tried while staying in chase camera mode the whole time.

    Screenshot2016-12-31134017.png
Chase camera starts off perfectly fine with the default vehicle which is the white pickup since I did a clean reinstall.

As soon as I switch to a different car, this happens.

    Screenshot2016-12-31134103.png
Then I switched back to the pickup, but noticed the chase camera sits a lot closer up.

    Screenshot2016-12-31134134.png
Then I switched to a smaller car and get similar results to the Barstow.

    Screenshot2016-12-31134224.png
The Moonhawk spawned with body colored trim for some odd reason since I double clicked on it's icon in the car select right after the LeGran. This car was also the furthest offset if you notice the grid lines and then look at the first picture again.

    Screenshot2016-12-31134438.png
Going from Moonhawk to Bolide made the chase cam now be offset towards the left now, kinda like how the driving camera is in GTA IV.

I also followed the steps to uninstalling Beam of all of it's content and then going a clean reinstall... but it didn't seem to make a difference for me with this chase camera glitch. Fortunately I seemed to have found a little work around this by changing the camera back to "orbit" mode every time I want to replace my current car with a new car and the chase camera seems to stay centered to the car reasonably well in the lateral axis. Also reloading a vehicle with an offset chase camera while having the camera in "orbit" seems to center the chase camera too.

But I have no possible idea what would cause the chase camera to do that and the clean reinstall rules out that mods don't cause it. Though the only car that I can find that truly has a misaligned chase camera is the Barstow, but it's at least misaligned on the longitudinal axis and not the lateral axis, so it's pretty a minor thing to look at.

Repeat that. Close game and do this:
Press the SUPPORT button in the game launcher.
Follow the instructions and press 'Submit Informations.
Our 'BeamNG.Support' page should open now.
In this page only provide me the 'Support ID' (it's a 4 numbers code).
Close the page, do not send a Support Ticket.

I don't see anything strange in your logs.
I was able to replicate following your instructions (ie. Having chase camera and changing vehicles) and it seems to be a bug indeed.
    Doing CTRL+R fixes it.

    Noting this issue down meanwhile.

Bump again, it's now been 2 years since you noted it down and I'm still having the issue. Is it still being looked at?

Cool, I was playing around and couldn't remember how to fix it since I'd seen this post before. Playing with an offset camera is very distracting.
