Controller nor working

For some reason my xbox one controller is not working. It worked fine before but it just stopped working all of a sudden. I can connect it and the light appears, but the game doesn't respond to anything I do and it doesn't show up on the hardware screen too. What should I do?

Driver related possibly? Also, some manufacturers cheap out on micro USB cables, only allowing for charging, and not data transfer, but if it’s the same cable, it can’t be that.

I tried updating the drivers but the best ones were already installed, it's most likely an issue with my laptop or maybe the settings of the game.

You don't need drivers for that, they are already included in Windows.

Is it an original controller?
Is it working in other games?

If yes to above, please check if Steam is messing with it.
Within Steam, go to the game's properties > 'Steam Input' > 'Forced Off' and then check again.

It works now. For some reason the game wasn't detecting the controller, but it's fixed now. Thanks.
