I wonder if anyone will be slower using a passanger vehicle(obviously a Pidgeon or T Series is slower)

Despite having "turbo" in the name, it appears that the TurboBurger Pessima was no match for some of the more race oriented vehicles in this competition. So I decided to upgrade my car to the 2.7L LX V6 Pessima. With ~50 more horsepower, I was sure to be faster! But that wasn't enough; my cheep keyboard also couldn't stand up to the fancy racing wheels people were using. So I decided to drive using the most expensive computer peripheral I own: a Wacom Intuos drawing tablet.

About a half hour (and lots of control tuning) later, I finally actually completed a race without crashing, driving into a ditch, or flipping the car.
    Screenshot492.png
...and it was only 6 seconds faster. Hmm, something must've gone amiss... (`_´)ゞ

Jokes aside, this is a really fun idea! This is like the first time in a while I've actually played races and stuff in BeamNG, instead of just modding or aimlessly driving around. I think it would work a little bit better if you maybe limited how fast the cars could be, or like grouped them in classes or something, but I believe that's been suggested already. And I'm having fun either way, haha. (*≧▽≦)

Do you steer with the keyboard or the mouse?

Sooo since this is a really good idea I really had to try it too, now we have a drawing tablet racing league!
    (;^^)
I changed my car too, to the street tuned Covet, and I used an XP-Pen G430S tablet (With a 101.6 x 60 mm area, if anyone is interested)
And i'm generally surprised that I got (nearly) 2 seconds faster, even though the car was much faster than the last.

(It was actually loads of fun though! Especially when I finally finished the race without ending in sand or facing the wrong way)

No, the car must be from the base game, the FR17 was already mentioned to not be eligible.

No mods lol. Never have installed any except for my own Automation ports and don't know how to program. I mentioned that I spent about 100 hours tuning the suspension, and I wasn't kidding. I did use nitrous, which wasn't listed in the rules so at times the car has around 300 horsepower or so. I know my car very well and have used it for most of my time spent playing BeamNG.drive since late 2016. I removed the interior of the car yesterday and got a 1:08 but can't post a picture right now. I am using a racing wheel though so I can be fast and consistent, but have gotten similar times in the past with a controller.

in any trim, the legran is really easy to point in the corners. I was trying with one earlier, with a stock 2.2, race sus., and street tires, and got fairly comparable times to a carbureted covet on street tires. I would figure one with race tires and not weak engine would be fairly close to the track covet, which seems to be the case. it's slower but the difference isn't large.
a key element to getting fast times though is not apply more steering than the tires can handle. going from racing games that limit the steering to beam which basically has no dynamic limiter unless you've set speed sensitive steering up. and of course, if the tires slip too much peak grip isn't provided.
with higher power cars too, you might still be tempted to be a hotboi through the corners, but as fun as that is, throttle control and steering have to be smooth, otherwise the balance of the car gets disturbed and you have to regain it, you lose your line, etc.
driving technique is also to be considered, but i find that if you're able to be on the limit the speed would still be high compared to understeering and sliding everywhere. racing lines and braking can be developed and controlled more easily as you get accustomed to the driving

This ^. I have spent so much seat time in my LeGran that I know exactly how much speed and steering angle my car can take through the corners. Knowing your car is one of the most important things in racing.

I did improve my earlier time, same car and config as before RWD Hillclimb SBR4 with race TC:
    upload_2019-2-6_19-6-53.png
1:00.567 - 2:04.802, took first lap bit slower than one of earlier runs, so I guess there is room for improvement still.

I'm not sure if my car classifies as SBR4, after all it has only rear wheel drive, so SBR2? :D

I wonder who will be the first to break the one-minute barrier. I'm nowhere near close (I'm in the 1:09s rn).
