Before the 0.15 update, on maps like Hirochi raceway. my game was smooth, but after the update, I can't even get 20 fps on low graphics. I have SSAO, light rays, dynamic reflection, shadows and Vsync turned off, but I still can't get above 20fps on maps like Hirochi Raceway

    Specs:
    Intel Core i5

    Intel HD Graphics 520

    Nvidia Geforce 940MX

Did you check on which one the game is running now? (you can see that from Help > Performance in-game. The card that appears under 'Video Card' is the one the game is using)

First thing that comes to my mind is that the game was running on the Nvidia Graphics (faster), and now it's running on the Intel Graphics (slower)
This does not depend from the game, but your laptop, Nvidia Control Panel settings and powerplan settings:

Go to Options > User Interface and enable the 'Advanced Features'.
Then use the 'Performance Graphs' button in the side menu.
Let it run a bit on Gridmap, East Coast USA.
Put your cursor over the CPU graph, press ALT+O. A page will appear, copy here the link at the bottom of it.
Do this too with the cursor over the GPU graph.
    Repeat this for both maps.

On a slightly different note, the UI is insanely laggy after the 0.15 update. I removed conflicting mods, but the performance is still a remarkable downgrade from 0.14.

    System Specs:

    FX-6300 (liquid cooled)
    GTX 1060
    8gb DDR3-1600
    650w PSU

I pressed Alt+O, but nothing happened, and I heard a "ding" sound. Am I doing something wrong?

Check if you have 'Advanced Features' enabled in Options > User Interface. Should be on for ALT+O to take screenshots if I recall correctly.
Else use whatever program you have to take a screenshots, and upload them here (Upload a File button)

In my testing with iGPU, I found out that setting light or shader quality to anything between low-high does not change performance or visual appearance at all.

Only by setting those to lowest gives some performance improvements.

So if you select custom graphics quality and choose lowest for shader and light quality you should see better FPS, but lowest light quality makes things look odd because of known issue.

So I would think there is a bug in game in regards of those graphics options.

Your GPU is causing all the lag for some reason (40ms delay)

    Ah, this reminds me something.
Some user said that changing setting did not affect performance, until the game was restarted.

OP can you please try that?

I changed the shader and light quality, and now the game runs smoother than before. Thanks for the help
