    Most unnecessary? Ford’s PRNDL.

Takata or GM’s ingition switch recall were probably the worst, since they were KNOWINGLY killing people.

Not much is worse than a thing that's designed to save your life doing the exact opposite.

My dad's Civic got a Takata airbag recall months ago.

Though it's not as bad as the recalls for Toyota.

The highest risk vehicles that have the dangerous Alpha type bag with 50% chance of malfunctioning can be seen here: https://www.airbagrecall.com/en/airbag-recall-101/high-risk-vehicles
Other vehicles have less dangerous types of bags that have about 1-2% chance of malfunction.

The 1984 fiero iron duke 4 cyl. It had the wrong dipstick and a bad engine compartment wiring harness so it would melt the wires under normal driving and the engine would explode and ignite the car under hard driving from lack of oil

That was totally a lie. It was driver error every single time.

I think it was high emissions behind this.

Companies like BMW or Mercedes didn't have VW's problems, and the cheating was also found by US autorities. The only people at fault are at Volkswagen, not the Bundestag or another company.

While, you might be right then, it may have been a total lie because it was a driver error every time.
