Ive seen TONS of threads and posts on asking what video card would be good for BeamNG, or if such-and-such will be good, or if this laptop could play it. Yes, BeamNG does need a graphics card. But, you don't need a super fantastic one to get good FPS. Now Planet-side 2 (although they are optimizing it (finally), they are madly trying to get it running on a Ps4.). It uses TONS of cpu to run. Causing you're FPS to cap out, much before your video card is stressed. This is called CPU bound. When the CPU is the thing holding your FPS down, while your video card has room to spare. You can change your graphics settings , but you might not see much of a difference in terms of FPS. BeamNG is the same way. So the question you should ask before you ask about video cards, is how well would your CPU run it? 4-cores is generally good, dual-core is a not so great idea, and lets not talk about a single core, and 8-core or such, many programs won't actually use all 8-cores, so depending on what you're doing it might not help (although there are cases where 8-cores is very nice) Here is a link to some recommended requirements, but take into account more about the CPU then graphics (Thank you Razze) Requirements
Also if you are not sure what CPU or GPU to buy to run BeamNG Drive or if your computer is good enough to run it then look at the requirement's page on the Wiki.
well, i would disagree for high settings (but for low settings you don't really need much power), considering the requirements do say it requires at least a gtx 670 for high settings
yes? its low settings, i can manage gta iv(one of the most horribly ported games mind you) at low with 45+ fps(when i can get gfwl to let me flipping play it that is), doesn't mean i can play at high while still being playable, same apply's to beamng, while you may be able to easily run low, does not mean you can easily run high by any means
Well that's why I said, might not change your FPS... I think the only reason why we need such a good card for high is that Torque doesn't really have any procedural map loading that I can see. Meaning the entire map and everything on it is loaded all the time. There's only a slight drop in quality. Where as most games, (Very noticeable on console games) trees and objects will not load after a certain distance, "Draw distance". But I mean if you change your settings to low, and FPS is the same as medium, you're CPU bound.
