The Epic Store? What is that? --- Post updated --- I just looked it up, it's Epic Games store. And your answer would be no @Buffalo Custardbath. BeamNG will never be apart of Epic Games aka the destroyer of this generation.
Well, I'm also not a huge fan of Fortnite etc. but you have to go with the time. They also said they would allow third-party games on their store
Eh Valve isn't saying anything about Left for Dead 3 which people have seen files of it. There are also pictures too. But anyways I don't think BeamNG would be on their store as those games are on the Unreal Engine. The devs have already stated that Beam won't be transferring to another engine. So in that case it would be no.
Im sure that just because other games are unreal engine, that doesnt mean they have to be, I find no reason just to be forced to have unreal engine.
An article from Android Authority stated that only the revenue will be different. If you don't use Unreal Engine Epic Games will take 12% revenue (but if you use the Unreal Engine they will ask for less)
what would they stand to gain by making it available there? slightly more sales with a slightly higher cut? is that really worth maintaining a second update/support channel for someone as small as them?
2 things. The epic game store (while having a 88% profit compared to steams 70% profit) the Epic games store has not yet proven itself nor does it have a proper 3rd party indie game introduction at the time of this writing. As such it may be available on the Epic games store IF Epic games store successes at being a comparable store to steam. The epic game store wont have a discussion page like steam does they said something to the effect of "we won't have a report page as that is what Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and company sites are for."
Epic store is on its way to becoming the new Steam. Also they give away a free game every 2 weeks, I just got Subnautica yesterday for free.
giving away free games doesn't attract people to your platform if it sucks. ubisoft has proven this for years.
True, I don’t think I’ll ever leave Steam, I only use Epic for Fortnite. Currently the Epic games store isn’t too great, but who knows what the future holds..
probably the continued dominance of steam with random holdouts going "reeee" and not putting their trash on steam. exclusivity is not the same as having a competitive market between storefronts and community services. if it's not a. on steam b. a direct download i ain't buyin it ¯\_( ͠° ͟ʖ ͠° )_/¯
Ok we get it your a steam elitist. Just remember GOG is a really good competitor to steam when it comes to classic games .
Can't say there's anything I've personally ever wanted to buy that was on GOG but not Steam. I mean, GOG is a competing storefront with Steam, not really a competing all-encompassing service. Their main benefit, as a storefront, is guaranteed DRM freedom, which is fine. That's definitely a feature. Not one I, as a consumer, care about. If gaben ever pulls the plug and steals all my games, I'm happy to hoist the mainsail and gain an affinity for rum.
