Maybe a developer can come in here and clear up the fire thing. Just give us some clarification, will the fire system be revamped?
It was a minor miracle (and a lot of work by people smarter than me) to get it to even get workable cars in the state they are now. Dev quality ones would be all but impossible to do proceedurally
Honestly I don't see how cryengine looks better, it looks pretty similar, it just doesn't have reflections. CryEngine3: Torque 3d: BeamNG.drive today:
Lets be real ok @gabester is a hard working dedicated person that is only giving orders at the moment for vehicle production due to a diesese or injury(I can't remember which I think diesese), cars and maps are beautiful and give the game an awe and wonder about it physics and graphics are being worked on, 3/10 of the community doesn't even know what jbeam is. but your last point proves my point BeamNG.Drive is a game that is more then a game and more physics engine and that is only one it reason will be remembered like pacman was and fortnite will be. also think about the community that has pushed the devs to make this game what it is and where it is now as a amazing creation thank you Devs and Staff members that have made this game what it is and how powerful and impressive the game it is(Legit the game is powerful it nearly melted my old dell LOL) but besides that comment this is a game that should be an impression in everyone on the forums minds forever @CrazySlavicPol
They hired a audio engineer approximately off the top of my head, in 2016. We still haven't gotten realistic sounds. Diesel's sound like petrol engines, and tyre sounds are like an arcade game.
Just so long as you learn something from it - and I'd argue that Poe himself wasn't entirely right either. Sometimes that little display of blatant humor isn't enough to make the distinction.
I thought it was a pretty obvious straw man, and that people would notice the line where I explicitly denounced the views I was mocking.
Parody is not the optimal method of internet communication. If you would like to continue this discussion, I recommend that we do so via private conversation to avoid dragging the thread off-topic any further.
That's also why I said earlier, why doesn't the community try to do research, not only the developers.
The main reason why CryEngine3 looks better is the yellow-ish lighting, but you can still do that in Torque3D Torque3D is overall much better than CryEngine3 as it can not only recreate the same lighting, but also has dynamic reflections etc. (Above is an example of how lighting can be drastically changed just by changing the time of day. This screenshot is taken directly from BeamNG with no filters/re-shade mods)
Yes, but it's been two years. And all he has to make is audio files for vehicles. Amateur audio creators on here in the mod section have made better audio files to engines than they have, and they're professional sound engineer(s) they supposedly hired.
Most of the mod authors either do 1 of 2 things. They go to a FREE site and put them onto the mod section or 2 they go outside and use their own microphones on their own vehicles or other sound creation items. It's harder to make realistic sounds from scratch so they don't infringe on possible copyrights. Addition. Here's a challenge. Make a thunder storm with a full drum set and a sink. EX:
I believe I have a couple of times, and never got a response. And this thread is about the game as a whole. So it doesn't really matter, really. Either way the Devs & consumers will see it.
You posted once, highlighting (note, I didn't use the word complaining) the lack of a diesel sound, in August 2017. Someone else from the community replied briefly. If you post with decency and respect, we always aim to reply, but sometimes things simply just get missed - always possible on a forum.
