West Coast USA, MIN 38, AVG 51.3, MAX 63

I kept getting lost, but finally managed to learn a route.

Staring from Redwood Forest, then straight until ending up into intersection where I turned left, straight until ending up into city, past hospital, then past fire station and police station, back to red wood forest from top of the hill, ah it is no point to explain the route, one will just get lost, maybe I record a video some day.

This map is very GPU heavy and you can see how at redwood forest FPS plummets down as well as CPU load, at built areas CPU load is somewhat higher. Do note that it is MAX usage of any thread.

Here is test with my typical settings for comparison, 1050Ti is enough to keep constant 60fps but barely, lowering settings is not giving much more fps (surely lowering settings would give lot lower visual quality), I would need to turn shadows off to get meaningful fps gain:

It is interestingly different among maps because of how GPU intensive it is.

Little bump but this is surely because of xbox live who limits the fps to 30 [sarcasm over 9000] to offer you the best console-like experience [/sarcasm over 9000]... To fix this, go into the options of the xbox live app and disable an option with dvr in it and your fps should have no cap...

0.14.0.1 WCUSA test, with gtx 1080, CPU graph looks really odd.

    Min 73
    Average 95.3918575
    Max 126

gtx 1080 with 0.14.0.1 game version seem to be almost twice as fast as gtx1050Ti in 0.11.0.4 version, overall I get impression that GPU load in WCUSA has decreased with 0.14.0.1 version.

This is bit odd data I did record, but also new versions of HWinfo are not recording data faster than once a second, so that misses a lot of load spikes.

Anyway, typically when GPU load decreases and FPS decreases it means CPU is causing a bottleneck, yet CPU graph is not showing much of any change, jumping up and down wildly, but can't see a trend there that would correlate with fps or gpu load.

By doing peak CPU load analysis, I could then tell that CPU is limiting factor even it does not show up at all in data HWinfo64 logged, reason is that data rate is too slow to be really useful in new HWinfo versions. Main menu of the game is CPU limited too, it is some 2000fps so CPU very quickly finds itself being bit slow. 8086K 1 car bananbench is 43Mbeams/s 46 if moon phase is correct etc. my 6700 gets 40 Mbeams/s.

Now many games are trouble feeding gtx1080, single core limit is present in quite many games, usually if 60fps can be met, optimization is enough good, so when running without fps limit/vsync many games run into SC bottleneck despite this CPU's single core performance is quite good.

So worst case with single vehicle and fps is quite close, but not quite 60fps, GPU could do lot more work, but there is no CPU enough fast for keeping GPU at 100%, so need to use normal details to keep above 60fps, that gives 20fps more and even 1050Ti can keep up mostly 60fps. High details will work 60fps with 6700k especially overclocked one, but I think Cinebench score 190 or higher is needed and there still is potential issue with multiple vehicles.

Full screen gives 2-4fps more, disabling UI gives again few fps more and using free camera instead of orbit camera is again few fps more, so I would say that 0.14.0.1 has improved fps by a few, it is not much, still CPU spiking to 100% hard that limits fps, but it is bit better, whatever reason might be, but GPU is not fed fully.

There is still bit of mystery, as there were few spots where CPU was spiking a lot less to 100%, but GPU was still not utilized fully, so there can be something else to it too.

Really looking forward of Italy and tricks developers manage to find out, performing computer graphics are quite challenging thing and with very slow evolution of CPU core usable computing power while GPU computing power has increased a lot, this has put great challenges to any game dev and need for new technologies.

For example intel has increased core count at expense of usable single core computing power. That is creating a situation where CPU has lot of computing power, in theory, but in practice 6th gen is equally fast as 8th gen.

West coast, all ultra except reflections, those 1 tick for each slider, 750ti, i5-3470, 5-20 fps any car lmao

edit: + simplified physics, but I use only 1 car anyway
