dual core 4 threads atom is really old, that is Z2xxx series. They had a much worse architecture, this is beyond baytrail, baytrail sent the CPU performance to be about on par with the ARM Cortex A53 which isn't too bad tbh. GPU performance is meh, about halve of the iPad Air at the time. But when it did come out it was really performant, and battling head on with the iPad, which was really impressive, but the performance hasn't really changed since then, and really the industry is moving on. This is a cherrytrail CPU, the geneartion after the Baytrail, it has up to 4x the GPU performance, bringing it inline or near competing arm devices. Cherry trail is old news now, it was replaced with the N series CPU, but they have TDP of 6w, so bye bye 10in tablets. There was Apollo lake, and now Gemini lake. Mainly just overclocked atoms, and faster GPU. The Baytrail architecture was the real start of the Intel atom being competitive. I still remember opening up my 10in Asus tablet and thinking that it would perform like a dog due to it's atom sticker, but I was presently surprised when I found it was quad core and performed quite well.
what's fun is that my phone's cpu is more performant. XD. It has a Snapdragon 425 wich is 4xA53 that are running at 2ghz
