    Hi guys,

I've tried the demo for like a few weeks now and decided to buy the alpha access. The demo was working fine but the alpha version crashes with the error failed to open shaders .... /maplocation/.
I did read about the shader settings that are buggy after changing (which i did). I reinstalled the alpha version and tried again with the default settings. Same crash!

I tried to search for a sollution but didnt find any. Help please?

Try Running Update.exe (note: it might be named update.exe.old, just rename it to update.exe and it will work again)

if that doesn't work, have you tried running as admin? also will help if you tell us your specs

Do you have DirectX 9? If possible, get 10/11 or try reinstalling 9. If you are running on an XP, there is a warning that the game might not be fully supported.

You need DirectX 9 for this game. You can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Thanks for your reply, i did download the installer from the link you posted but it wont let me install it. The setup says: You have a higher version of dx installed, no installation needed.

Haha - I see it now, sorry.

Also, I don't have DirectX9? I use 11. Why shouldn't it work on his PC?

The weirdest thing is that i can play the demo just fine. It's always the same shader error showed in the screenshot.

    Things i've tried so far:

    -update beamng
    -run as admin
    -re-download / install direct x
    -re-install beamng
-tried all shader possibilities. (they all crash)

Oh, okay. Tired today, sorry xD
It doesn't seem like there is anything wrong with your specs.
The graphics are the problem (shaders). Tried reinstalling on another location (as logoster said)?
