    This is our fifth championship. Please completely read the rules so you know how to participate, and also so you don't ask questions that are already covered.

    Anyone may participate. There are 20 scoring positions.

    Car:
    Thanks to Spec Racer Z, we have premade configs for the following cars:
    I-Series
    Covet
    Classic Pessima
    Modern Pessima (Prime nitrous when starting by pressing B, look for green circle)
    Sunburst

    You must use one car for the whole championship. If you decide to post several submissions to the first stage, please make it clear which car you intend to use for the remainder of the championship.

    You are allowed to tune the premade configurations (with the exception of fuel volume and rpm limit) but you must use the premade configurations as they have been balanced to perform at a similar pace. Custom liveries are allowed, but other part swaps are not allowed. If you are using keyboard, you are allowed to turn ABS on.

    The configs are part of the BRC5Files.zip attachment, explained below.

    Events:
    There will be 4 events over 4 weeks. To get a competitive score, you only need to participate in 3 events (see scoring). The events are played as time trials. Thanks to ClassyClassic and SpecRacerZ for helping to quality control the circuits.
    1. BRC 5 Gravel Circuit (Automation test track), 3 laps. Ends: September 17
    2. BRC 5 Reverse Supercar Rally (Jungle Rock Island). Ends: September 24
    3. Mixed Rally Circuit reversed (East Coast, USA). Ends: October 1
    4. Uphill Rally (Utah). Ends: October 8
    All events are included in the BRC5Files.zip attachment, explained below. Event 1, 2 and 4 are modified from time trials that are already in BeamNG drive. Event 3 is based on a previous BRC course.

    Scoring:
    There are 20 scoring positions. From last to first, the scoring is as follows: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 29, 33, 37, 41, 50
    You will get a score for each event you participate in and scores are totaled to determine ranking. 1 event will be dropped, meaning if you participate in all 4 events your lowest score will not be included in your total.

    Participation:
    To participate, play these events as a time trials and upload a video of your best run by the posted date for the event by 22 UTC. If recording while playing affects your performance, you can instead post a screenshot of the completion screen along with a replay of the event. To record a replay of your run, press Alt+R at before starting the event and then press Alt+R once you have finished the event (Alt+shift+R to cancel recording). You can either record this replay as a video or post the replay file. Even if the replay is broken, post it anyway. If you need help recording replays, a tutorial can be made.
    You are allowed to run the course as many times as you want, and are allowed to post multiple runs. The best valid run that you post will be used to determine your placement. In your post, please include your video (or screenshot + replay) and whether you used a keyboard, controller, or steering wheel.

    Events end on the posted date at 22 UTC. Charts showing placement will be posted when the events end. Once the placement chart for an event has been posted, no more submissions for that event will be allowed.

    If you want to submit a time but the upload is taking too long and will put you past the cut off point, you can submit a screenshot of your time (the time trial completion screen). You must post the replay of your run within two days of the screenshot posting, and the times must line up.

    Stages and Cars attachment:
    The premade car configurations and all stages are added to the game through the BRC5File.zip file attached to this post. Simply download it and place it in your mods folder (usually found in C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods).

    Some tips and info from car balancing, the Classic Pessima and Sunburst are essentially the handling cars, I-Series and Covet are the more balanced speed cars, and the Modern Pessima is the specialized speed car with a handling disagvantage. No one car is fastest around all four courses.

    For people who don't like tuning, the Sunburst and Classic Pessima will probably need their higher gears (4th, 5th, 6th) adjusted for the courses to get the most out of them. The other three are a little more plug and play with a powerband that should be pretty good using the default transmission setup throughout.

    What time have you done?

    Would mind to upload your videofile to youtube? That would ease things up in regard of accessability (esp. on mobile devices) :)

    So I have to say this course was giving me a hard time, and I didn't like the back straightway, it was really bumpy and I flipped my car there about 7 times. That section made me quit using the Covet, which is my personal preference around tighter courses, but has really stiff suspension that I didn't manage to make any better, and switch to the Sunburst, that felt more smooth.

    My best time was a 3:18.3 - not that good. But I got some nice sliding around, so at least I gave the crowd some dusty action!
    EDIT: oh forgot to mention- using a controller

    Used an Xbox 360 controller (no assists), time of 2'55.849 in the Hirochi Sunburst with some gear tuning.

    My attempt at the first stage.

    A little sloppy but I'm getting back into the swing of things. Very bumpy and fun track. Spec wrecks per usual :).

    With my newish monitor and new CPU I decided to try 1440p software recording. I enjoy messing around with this basic video editing and recording stuff. With 1080p Youtube compression really kills the quality, but with 1440p I don't get that recurring blocking from running out of bitrate!

    I wanted to post my attempt with time 3:17:xxx, but when I saw ClassyClassic's time I decided to beat him. It was just 3 seconds and he has xbox controler and I beat him with keyboard. It means a lot for me with my terrible driving skills. Thank you ClassyClassic!!! :D

    That was more challenging than I thought! Great circuit but so bumpy, it was hard to be consistent with the lines and the braking points. I was hoping for a sub-3 minutes but oh well :D



    03:01.294, BRC I-series with a keyboard and ABS on.

    Put a bit of time in and got a 3:06.678 which I'm feeling pretty good about. I used the Hirochi Sunburst and a Logitech G27. Also not the cleanest ending

    I did a time of 3:00.779 with a Sunburst (gears tuned). I used my Thrustmaster T500 RS with H-Shifter.

    Everyone showed up with their almost sub-3-minute times at the end there. A fun course, but definitely much bumpier than I expected. Automation may offer some good roads for creating new courses in the future though

    Here are the standings from stage 1

    Even if you haven't participated yet, this could be your dropped event and you could get a competitive score. Also in the past people tend to drop off as the championship goes on so anyone who sticks around essentially scores free points.

    I went ahead and did my Stage 2 run earlier this time. Xbox 360 controller (no assists), time of 1'39.983 in the Hirochi Sunburst with some gear tuning.

    Yay, found an hour to practice! The best I've managed is 1:38.316, using the I-series and a G27 with assists off.
    Ended up wall-riding those bushes in the downhill left hander. Luckily damage, if any, didn't affect drivability.


    (sorry for crap fps but my computer is giving it all it's got)

    I decided to be cautious for 1 run and got a 1:44.181 which I figure will be really difficult for me to top.
    Used a G27, and modified the top 3 gears
