I cannot wait for when all the edges are curved out, and the lights have sick textures, Maybe would you consider making a cut arched body for crawling etc ? Common fault: offroad steering breaks easily
I think that part's bugged, I don't actually remember messing with it. Aftermarket bits are on hold for now, apart from maybe jbeam ones, because a lot is being changed. I may as well put it out there, it's being completely re-modelled and re-jbeam-structured for version 2.0. To be honest, the model isn't great as I wasn't too experienced with Blender when I started out on it.
Some other people have been having that same issue; did you just fix it by deleting it and re-installing? --- Post updated --- All
I was going to keep it quiet, but I figured there's no point. I'm using a much better method, which works by starting with a cuboid and cutting into it. Problems with the old model were things like bad polyflow, wasted polygons, actually too much detail in places, and the fact that I made each part separately instead of making a whole conjoined model of all the hinged and latched bits to begin with - how I'm doing it now. A new model also means all-new textures.
I would really like to see a rebadged version with maybe a Gavril or Bruckell badge. Kinda like what Mazda and Ford did with the Ford Ranger and the Mazda B-Series.
But that wouldn't fit realistically. It worked with the Ibishu Dove because that's already an in-game car, but this is a Jeep. And as this is a Jeep, some may remember the adverts saying 'There's Only One Jeep'. You don't see Gavril or Bruckell Hopper re-badges, do you?
With the new model comes new parts, including the Dynasty, 2-door and maybe even the Scout all at once. The existing model does have the wood in the model itself, but it's not finished. The reason why this new model may get all of the new ones at once, is that the new method means it's modular, so I can just take the back off the 4-door, clean the back up and model its bed. Since the old model has literally been abandoned now, and it's all being made from scratch again, I didn't want to waste time making the old model a new front end. With the way I'm doing it, it should be much better quality than the older model. --- Post updated --- Also, This seemed to fix it for him, have a go and let me know if it doesn't work
okay, firstoff, this thing is AMAZING!!! Everything about the Blackfoot feels on-par with the greats (SergentFido, AR162B, Atomix, NinetyNine), and the vehicle fits so well with the ibishu lineup both styling and trim wise! now, time for a few nitpicky things : The Badges: while the hopper, and most every other vehicle in the game, has full on 3D textured badges that make them look less like stickers and more like real badges, the Blackfoot has what looks to be just stickers of chrome. This goes for all of the badges on it, not just the side ones. Gaps between the dash and the doors: View attachment 464150 Steering column seems to be just a cylinder... a quick smoothing on that should fix it right up! Same goes for the gauges, which are also in need of a good slice of smoothing: Dashboard has a flat color instead of a texture, same goes for the trunk interior. Door panels don't line up with doors. and finally, what the HECk is going on with the paint haha vs. View attachment 464160 oh yeah also; i think you mean Upgraded? now it may seem like i'm throwing quite a bit of shade here, and i'm really bad at making constructive criticism sound constructive, but i really do believe that this mod is one of the best I've seen all year, heck, even in the past two-to-three years! oh also i'd love to help name and create the configs for Mr. Blackfoot, because, man, the names for the actual XJ Cherokee sound so much cooler than the "ocean" and "deluxe" EDIT #1: the bumpers seem to be just... thin? Blackfoot: Hopper: EDIT #2: oh yeah i almost forgot, the interior camera and relative cameras seem really zoomed in in the Blackfoot compared to every other car... (hopper for comparison) Blackfoot: Hopper:
Well, he is going to make a new model now, so these problems will be fixed once he completes that model.
First of all, all of these issues are things I'm aware of. Most of them are to do with the old, pretty bad model. Badges on most other cars are actually flat, but normals make them look 3D. The Blackfoot does have normals on its badges, but they're not very noticeable. You have to get really close. The dash belongs in that dumpster prop that someone made a mod for. It's not even finished and it's very badly modelled, and its edges were literally pinched in at the last minute because they were clipping through the doors. Same goes for the column and gauges. You're absolutely right with those The doorcards are stolen straight from the old Pessima, which would explain a lot. 'Uprated' can be used, but it's British English, which is why it sounds weird. Also, I am absolutely not joking here - I added the Orvis trim to Wikipedia right there. It was never there, and after ages of scrolling past it on the page, I got fed up and added it in. You'll be glad to hear that all of these model problems, as Fenekko said, will be fixed with the upcoming new model.
