yes that's correct, i mean if you look at the picture i linked you can even see that is says 16 valve on the engine.
Thats correct! 4 valves per cylinder multiplied for 4 cylinders adds to 16 valves. The silvertop has 5 valves per cylinder multiplied for 4 cylinders adds to 20 valves. Also, on the topic off the v-tec, the 4A-GE engine doesn't have it, BUT it has a primitive system with the same intention. The system, which name I dont remember, works on the intake or runners of the cylinders. The cylinders have 2 intakes, below 3500 rpm one of them is closed, so the engine is more fuel and pollution friendly; over 3500 rpm the second intake opens and its all performance to the redline.
Interesting but then it just wasnt as praised as the VTEC or rather no one really cared much about it.
I totally forgot to share this here. A project I was working on. I might finish it because this thread is clearly active!
It wasn't as eficient has v-tec, I think that v-tec is way more than valve timing, also changes the raito of fuel/o2. Thats why you have to tune the engine 2 times, with and winout v-tec active when you modify the engine. The toyota alternative is a solution that a farmer could do to a standard engine if told. And a very easy thing to remove if you want power all the time. It was the early 80's and everybody needed to reduce emisions and no body know how, so everything that worked slighly was good enough.
i has a variable camshaft was the hart of a vtec Toyota has its own version of that too the right name is VVT (yea it calls diferently i know on a bmw its called VANOS as axample) wy is everyone sand corn piking and jea i see the vvt was introduced in 1991 but bevore that they had In the 4A-GE engines a system instalet that is called T-Vis Variable Intake system https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-VIS i think that's the one that you mean
That's not what VVT is. VVT stands for variable valve timing. TIMING!! VTEC is a form of variable valve LIFT. VTEC alters the lift of the valves by having 2 separate sets of lobe for each camshaft. The computer in the car activates these higher lift and/or duration lobes. Variable valve timing adjusts the timing of the camshaft by either a oil or electronically operated solenoid. This allows for the valves to be opened/closed at the optimal times.
I know but they are both applied to do the same thing to adjust the camshaft diverent principes but literaly same result or made to bring that result because the VVL do change the valve timing too a litle bit i found a interesting video about that
just downloaded this it shows up but i can not start the car. aslo the guages and heater vents etc move around in cockpit view, any reason why?
I want to see that, sounds hilarious! Try to remove any other mod and clear cache, it may do de trick
On the mod zip: toyotaae86.zip\vehicles\Toyota_Ae86 Backup and reemplace. May be more gears ", gear.ratio" gets funny at 4 AM... EDIT: Sorry to the autor of the mod since I didn't ask for permision for mod his mod and publish it on the forum. If you want I will remove this 11 gears madnes...
