can someone give me a hand trying to make the dump body have a variable weight? the first time i tried doing this i made it flawlessly but then the game updated and i of course didnt save the file elsewhere. i cant remember what i did and now whenever i try this the semi just "spawns" underground ive uploaded a screen shot of the jbeam im doing this to avoid having to add weights into the bed, i can just make the bed super overloaded with ease!!!
I think you need speech marks Code: {"nodeWeight":"$dumpweight"} It certainly does feel odd putting variable names in speech marks, but in jbeam all text needs to be in speech marks, the game can then link up the variables based upon the '$' symbol.
i gave that a try and it still just spawns nothing deep underground... i think for the time being ill just stick to manually overloading things through the jbeam lol on a serious note is there anything else that looks wrong there?? am i putting the variable in the correct spot? does the "]," matter if its above or after the variable or even there at all? ive tried far to many variables with the code and no luck. i dont know how i did it flawless the first time????
I am about to go to bed, so will be afk for a while. I would guess that the games console should be able to tell you what is wrong, based on the spawning nothing underground, it will probably give you an error with a line number to tell you where the error is in your jbeam file. I can't tell you what key opens the console because I think it varies depending on what region your keyboard is from. All I can say is that on a UK keyboard it is the ' key (same key as @).
I recommend that you install Notepad++ and use that to edit your jbeams. You'll find copious references to using Notepad++ on this forum, in the wiki, etc. Here is how to set it up correctly: https://www.beamng.com/threads/how-to-enable-proper-highlighting-in-notepad.39158/ Please attach your jbeam file to this thread.
