Can I run the full game better then the demo?

I'm thinking about buying this amazing game but not sure if I can run it or not on my desktop very well. In the demo the default truck lags my computer with 12-20fps but when I use the stripped truck I can run the game at what seems like 40-50fps. Could be all the polygons actively being calculated. Is there a workaround or is the full game any more optimized?

    Specs:

    Lenovo m57-6075 workstation

    Windows 8 Pro x64
    Intel core2 duo e6550 @2.33ghz
Nvidia GeForce GT640 1gb ddr3, Galaxy boosted (Runs just about any game on med-high with 1080 res)
    4 x 1gb (4gb) ddr2 800mhz ram in dual channel mode
    Slow/ old WD hard drive

You are gonna have a hell of a time running the game. You are almost below recommend specs (you may be actually below).

What I put in bold is a problem and what I underlined is hard to believe. The full game will run no better than the tech demo for you. It would probably run worse because the terrains have more going on.

On a side note, the stripped D15 is one hell of a framerate booster..

The main problem here is your processor. For one, it is old and outdated, and two, it is only a dual core. For this game you at least need a current gen i3 with hyper threading or a Quad core processor to run this game well. If you plan on playing this game, I would either update some parts (EX: Processor, Ram, HDD, MOBO) or just build a new computer that can handle games better. Sorry but those are really your only options.

Updating such an old computer is a waste of money.

You could buy a q6600 for around 50$ and that would make a big difference.

Exactly. Get yourself at least a quad core AMD or Core i5-higher Intel.

Getting the latest and most expensive hardware is not necessary. You can game just fine with an old core2 duo series cpu.

Define ''just fine''. Throw any mid-high end card in your system and see how your CPU explodes. Over the generations the CPUs gain in efficiency. Your old dual core, let's say at 3Ghz, can't do anything against a new i3 dual core running at much lower frequencies. In my case I had a Q6600 @ 3Ghz and when I upgraded to my i5 2500k the change was HUGE, even though they both have 4 cores and similar speeds.

To add to this, the amount of cache on the CPU matters a lot too.

A quad core AMD CPU is not the latest or most expensive.

Here's the lowest AM3+ socket quad core.
