The OP forgets to add Simracing Games I mean Gran Turismo and Forza are the same "shit" - called arcade with some sim features or simcade. Assetto Corsa i play only for the Moment and its very great besides some beta problems. Next Car Game need to update his game until i play it more, doesnt like it that much for now. SpinTires i need to buy when i can. Hopefully GTA V comes for PC in march, money is ready!
Dirt 3 is the main one, but also Grid 2 (Damn you Codemasters. I needed that cockpit.), F1 2013 and and ETS2
I can live without it, but I do enjoy that old, crappy 18 Wheels of Steel series. As for simulators though, X-Plane is by far my favorite.
Sadly, no one free-drive car game is complete to me, so I can't pick one. GTA has AI, explosions, and detailed lifelike maps, but the physics and driving mechanics are lacking. RoR is soft body and driving is very realistic mechanically, but it lacks AI and feels lonely. 18WoS has AI, large detailed maps, but feels cartoonish due to it's complete disregard for the way physics work in the real world. I'm hoping as BeamNG progresses it mixes the best of both worlds for a completely revolutionary "free-drive" experience. I got Haulin' when it came out and despite it's complete lack of realism, really enjoyed it. Something about the way they were able to use modular road pieces to make the "entire" United States was cool. I've been waiting for years for an RoR map made similarly (Absentia was the closest thing). I had Haulin' modded to hell. I had the "USA3" map (included back roads and some of Mexico and Canada), charter bus passenger mod, box truck mod, wrecker mod, additional trucks, b-double mod, heavy-haul mod, and I converted all of the AI vehicles to drivable ones myself. I had one company where I bought a Mustang and assigned a driver to it. I have no idea how he managed to haul 53' trailers with a sports car but he made me quite a bit of money. Why is this not included in the poll? I'm sure 75% of this community migrated from RoR and still regularly plays it.
Forza for the Semi-Sims, RoR for the indie titles, and my beloved Burnout for the arcade. R.I.P Criterion and may EA burn in hell for all of eternity for killing you...
Euro Truck Simulator 2! And now I'm more than a Legend , making money like crazy! SCS recently released a Beta update that improves a great deal the AI. Love this game also, too bad it lacks the soft body physics of BeamNG.drive, but nevertheless the driving experience is pretty interesting.
Nascar Racing 2003 Season, rFactor 1 & 2, iRacing, will be waiting for P:Cars and I'll have to check out Assetto Corsa...heard it will be good. Also play Grand Theft Auto (mostly San Andreas and 5) not really much of a console gamer though.
All 'bout that Assetto Corsa. My, oh my, that is a beautiful sim. I play it quite a bit. No simulator in my experience has matched the feel and physics of the cars than that game. Devs are super active, support is quick and their laser-scan tech means that everything is recreated extremely accurately. The game mixes road and track vehicles together, which is really refreshing, including cars like the Ferrari 458 Italia, Ferrari F40, BMW M1 GT3, Lotus Exige, Lotus T125, Lotus 49 and as of this Friday they will be adding the Pagani Zonda Huayra. There's loads more other cars, of course. Sooo yeah. Great game, 10/10 would play.
Assetto Corsa is brilliant, if you haven't already I would definitely give it a look. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
These are all really good driving games in my opinion, some of them are only loosely connected Assetto corsa Richard burns rally GTA4 (i only play that game to cruise with music) TDU1 (TDU2 was a bit of a disappointment due to internal camera and tinted windows) Anything Trackmania Audiosurf Trials evo Euro truck sim 2 (Normally with youtube or music at the same time on second screen) Midnight club Burnout paradise (or any of them tbh)
Live for Speed is absolutely brilliant imho. Probably the best racing sim out there, with Assetto Corsa following in close second, though I can live without that until they add a lot more cars. Right now, none of the cars really grab me, apart from the F40 and the E30 M3. Also find it funny that the F40 seems way easier to control than, say, the 458... F40 is like, the only car I can do epic skids with, with stability control completely off...
