have you tried clearing your cache?
I can select it under siren sounds if I equip a random car with a lightbar.
make sure that you removed all old files though

you dont have to reinstall the game for a mod but I mean all the files of the mod you have made.
Apart from the cache(which could be the problem), you could have saved them in various folders earlier. just make sure your vehicles folders are clean and you only have the zipfile in the mods folder.

nah, don't give up, the zipfile that was sent earlier is correct.
you just have to drop it at documents/beamng/mods/

I know this may sound stupid but did you scroll up and down on the list of siren sounds?

Screenshot of your mods folder, so we can see how you installed the mod.
Make sure the folder path is fully visible, like this:

And does the mod appear in your Mod Manager?

Also if you wonder why you couldn't get the mod to work as you wrote in the first post.
It's because you were using the userfolder in the wrong way.
    Documents/BeamNG.drive is your starting point.
The file you put must go in here basically:
    Documents/BeamNG.drive/art/sound/swedish_siren.mp3
    Documents/BeamNG.drive/vehicles/common/sounds/swedish_siren.jbeam

If you want to use your mod without packing it (notice where the ART folder is)
