Ever since I got beamng drive a long time ago I have always had slow uis such as car customization and car changing menu and I cant seem to understand Specs: Ryzen 1200 GTX 1050ti 8gb ram I don't have slow specs its just the game either doesn't use all my cpu or gpu Any fixes for the ui? (sorry if I posted this in the wrong topic)
I have 2 mods and the UI Is still very slow for me, but i only have an I3, So that could also be the issue mod count affects the loading, because it has to load all the .pc files, info file, etc.
UI has always been slow for almost everyone, it’s a known issue. High amounts of mods usually will make it worse.
Yes, the UI is not the fastest. The devs have said different times they are working on it, and that they are going to post more information about it soon-ish
I have 119 mods activated and just learned to live with it although it's not horribly slow so I guess it just depends on your PC specs? The vehicle selector takes about 5 or so seconds to show up after I load a map for the first time and even slower if I clear the cache it seems. When I have like 3 cars spawned, the vehicle parts menu lags a lot when selecting parts from the drop down menus. I'm not sure the cause but I just have always chocked it up to having an excessive number of mods installed. My PC specs in signature for reference.
Yeah, the UI has been painfully slow for a while. The devs have supposedly been working on fixing it, but it hasn't really gotten better with the last few updates. More mods does seem to slow it down, which is unfortunate because the game relies on mods to add new content.
Congrats to you, however most people like to do more than just crash and drive the default cars 300 times between updates.
Geez guys, it was just a question... I don’t use mods on any games and was genuinely wondering if I’m just weird for that... Note to self, must homogenize with the vocal folks.
technically, statistically, on a global level among people who play games, no, you aren't weird realistically, among people who would bother to participate in this forum, yes, you are weird
Seriously, how could you have not used mods in this (or any) game? Everyone on here has experimented with mods at some point.
I have tried some, but I usually delete them after a play session or two. Using mods just feels weird to me, I can only play ones that feel like they could’ve been official content. If I’m using a mod that feels like a mod I actually get sick of the game much faster than if I just play the vanilla game. The (kind of) exception to this is Cities Skylines, I have WAY too many steam workshop assets and I feel that game really needs mods like city vitals and first person to play it properly.
