Hi, was watching some crash test videos and saw that there are a lot of random shards of various plastics, metal and glass that fly from the car during collision. Surely it wouldn't be that hard to replicate this by firing particles from any areas contains beams with a changing deformation value? It could be fine tuned to perhaps only occur on beams that have undergone a significant change, and they could also be fired in the current direction of travel Here is a bit of reference if you want to see what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6H0UctkKSc Robbie
like poly's of a certain size can just detach from the mesh, like the headlight pieces and other small stuff under the hood etc.
Ye but its nothing like as many as in a real car crash. Take a look at how they did it in NCG. I think it really adds to the crashes personally. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbWs_jPOfiQ
Nice Idea, but I think It would be a little more complicated than just random spawned particels. As you can see in some other crashtest videos the particles of course get the s pread direction of the impact and the wide of the spread varies with the force of impact.
I like the idea, but it'll probably have to wait for some later release dates. (Also, does anybody know what the heck that barrier is made from? It look indestructible!)
