    Hey guys,

I recently upgraded my GTX 960 to a GTX 1070, but i feels like my FPS went down or didn't improve.
Like i had around 40FPS WCUSA on Medium settings and now I have about the same with lower or equal settings. The same on other maps. Higher settings decrease the FPS just a bit.
CPU usage is around 80%(60% from BeamNG) and GPU usage is 50%. My 8GB of RAM is filled to 5-6GB. I have no mods loaded (Safe mode), deleted the cache and verified the game files. Other games run smoothly on highest settings.
Is there a way to fix this?

    Specs:
    Intel i5 6500
    Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB
    8GB DDR4
    1920x1080 Resolution (no Vsync)
    Graphic preset Normal
    Temps and clocks are normal
Banana-Bench and Permormance screen in screenshots

Your CPU is not feeding your GPU enough fast.

Big question is why you get only 86 in banana bench, what is your CPU temp, if that is too hot then CPU slows down and it is very common issue.

That looks like very bad banana bench numbers for a cpu like that. That would be your main problem.
I've noticed that memory performance also has a very large impact on 'max' mbeam numbers so check that your memory is set up properly.
For reference, I get between 50-70+ fps on west coast and about 168-171 max mbeams with an old xeon 5670 and a gtx 770.

So I ran Banana-Bench again (now 92 MBeam/s)with HWMonitor and CPU-Z to check the Temps and RAM-Speed. The CPU stayed below 50°C and was at around 3.3 GHz at 95% utilization. RAM is also running at 2400 MHz (it is single channel).

Single channel is definitely a big problem, mine is triple channel, 6 sticks/2 banks at 1568mhz 9/9/9/24/33 2T timings(which could probably be tighter yet).

Also seems like something is eating some cpu cycles, mine never goes much beyond 80-85% usage with banana bench or spawning many cars ingame.

I don't know if this is any of value, but this is 1050Ti and I7-6700 with close to same settings etc. I get bit worse FPS, but lot more GPU presentation lag.

No matter what ram is, I think 1070 should be able to perform better.

If there is other stuff running, that could slow down things, I have ton of stuff running and performance is not the best right now because of that.

92Mbeams is not that horrible bad though for a 4 thread CPU I guess, worth to check what others have got at banana bench benchmark thread.

There is tips for testing performance, tools etc. in my signature in performance testing link, with HWINFO64 it is usually quite easy to see where issue lies.

No matter how fast your gpu is it still needs to rely on the cpu to push data to it, if the cpu is struggling the gpu will not get enough for high fps.
Memory is very important for beamng, no cpu has enough cache available for all of the 2000hz calculations happening in beam. It MUST rely on a decent ram bandwidth/latency to feed the cpu fast enough. If I change my ram/uncore settings I can easily lose 20+ max mbeams on banana bench.
Cpu and memory are absolutely dependent upon each other if you want to maximize performance and run programs like beamng at 100%.
His cpu should be well above 100 mbeams on the benchmark, just look at similar cpus in the thread you mentioned.
Even old overclocked amd processors with crappy fpu performance are getting numbers like 80-90 mbeams.
And I don't recall amd systems lacking in ram performance compared to intel systems of the same generation.
But it does seem like he has at least one other issue on top of the ram problem.
I don't remember the last time I had a computer that did not have at least 2 channel memory, very big performance hit only on single with such a modern processor trying to run something like beamng.

There are bigger issue to be solved than minor performance loss via memory bandwidth, there has been numbers and sure it does matter, but poor guy can't get much more out from his card than if he would have 1050Ti, I doubt any memory bandwidth limitation can be causing that, so it is best to start systematically testing and finding out what is causing this performance problem.

Feel free to try it yourself, take out all but one stick of ram or put most of the ram on one channel and see how well beamng performs for you.
You would be surprised how much ram effects performance of anything, including gpu memory.
Definitely not a minor difference between single>double>triple>quad channel ram. I don't understand how you think it is not just as critical of a component in a computer as much as the cpu or gpu is... Where do you think all the data is stored for all the physics? or all the data for the gpu that isn't textures and shaders? You need to do some research, and not sending this guy in the wrong direction when one of his issues is so obvious.

Here is a quote from the steam forums of someone who understands the same. Thread is about freezing when cars crash in beamng.

    Beamng.mapper.Bob.Blunderton said;
"Crashing vehicles together is a mass of FPU calculations all at once. CPU's - even recent ones - may suffer a little bit in heavy crashes, but it shouldn't go under 20fps.
My 4790k 4.4ghz handles it fine here for what it's worth.
Fast, dual channel, low-latency system memory can help a bit here, as it affects physics performance a lot, especially with multiple cars in play."

If you run to answer, before understanding the question, how you know you have a correct answer?

Some day, you will understand, that day clearly is not today.

I've been playing with computer hardware since the days of the 386, not exactly a newbie here...
I never had any issue understanding his problem, all I did was see the first big problem with his computer.
I even agreed that there is likely at least one more issue with his pc because this one I don't think will account for _all_ of his performance loss.
My i7 with 1200mhz 8/8/8 ram could hardly get 100% realtime up to 8 cars with 120ish max mbeams.
My xeon in the same system with 1568mhz 9/9/9 ram get all 20 cars at 101% realtime with 170 max mbeams.
I don't think only 2 extra cpu cores account for all that improvement, was only getting like 13 cars at 100% and only 150ish max mbeams before upping the ram settings... The more you know.
You are a few thousand lifetimes too young to be questioning another's wisdom, especially without first looking in the mirror.

Your cpu's performance is certainly not where it should be, even my old i7 930 could spawn at least 8 cars with the fps you are getting on gridmap.
Not enough info on the pc or how it is running/setup to get any ideas for why. Though you do have many backround programs running while beaming.

That is the problem, you are seeing the first problem and locking the answer, but think about it, he is having less than 50% of FPS he should with 1 single car, how much that lower than optimal memory bandwidth has to do with that?

Recommending to run to shop and get ram sorted would only mask the issue. How certain you are OP has memory right for example? There are always lot more variables than it first seems.

Hence my recommendation of doing it properly, making tests with HwInfo64 would provide some data and facts to work on

I did earn my living with fixing computers already at early 80's, but that has nothing to do with this, but I have seen that attitude before and it never brings any good, especially when basic problem finding practices are lacking.
