Sorry to go off-topic, but is there a way to put a video in a post without it having to be a youtube link? I've seen this in some other forums threads, where the post appears to contain a video that is not a link from another site.
Yea, I think that you need to upload the video file as attachment for the message, but I have a feeling that it requires certain container (format) and codec in order to work properly.
From memory, you can, but it needs to be in WebM format. If it is only something short that you want to upload, you can get pretty good mileage out of a gif. For example: However, the issue with gif, is that the above animation in 720p is 130mb. But even when uploaded in 640x360 like above (30mb), due to how gif does image compression, it looks about as clear as a 1080p YouTube video of BeamNG which usually ends up being a bit of a smeary mess.
