corrupted BeamNG!

Ah ok. Just trying to rule stuff out.

 

the freaking updater.exe just says this when i try to update: FATAL ERROR cant download version.txt

 

1. Go to "Add/Remove Programs" and uninstall the game.

2. Go to C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\BeamNG

3. Delete the BeamND folder

4. Reinstall game

What aspect didn't work? The game wouldn't uninstall?
Did it throw an error upon reinstall?

 

no, after installing, the updater.exe runs automatically,but says this: FATAL ERROR: CANT DOWNLOAD VERSION.TXT

hmmm, sounds like it's being blocked by your firewall or anti-virus or something, also, you are running it as administrator, correct?

 

i tried to update it with firewall and anti-virus off, but it didnt work, also, runningas admin = nothing changed

seems like somebody needs to give me a clean new game every time an update comes out...

 

You are getting the installer from YOUR link and not the backup link you linked to right?
Uninstall
restart computer
download fresh copy
Go to settings (top right)
Last order ( left side menu)
And the link and your serial should show (save to desktop)
install when done
restart for good measure

• Run as Admin
• Disable Firewall/Antivirus
• Restart Computer
• Check modem config
• Restart Modem

Also, the update.exe file could be not properly creating the session ID to connect to the BeamNG with, so it could always be that.

If you never enabled or set up a proxy, there should not be one set up.

It was suggested by a developer, very early in the thread, which is why I mentioned it again.

 

now, i tried and uninstalled Internet Explorer because some guys said it is making proxy servers, and nothing changed, help please?

 

Internet explorer doesnt make proxy servers, nor has anyone made that claim.

If its your own machine, you would know if there are any proxy servers applied as you would have had to set them up yourself. Otherwise, you'll need to check with the network admin.

Then proxies wont be your issue. Btw, you cant uninstall internet explorer, nor would uninstalling it do anything to any defined proxies.

So to summarise, turning off all firewalls, shutting down antivirus and running as admin still do not allow you to update the game?

 

actually, you can uninstall internet explorer in win 8 atleast, from remove windows features , but yeah, firewall & antivirus off, and running updater.exe as admin didnt work for me :/
