I've always wanted to say this. The 66 Mustangs and other 60's stangs are nice cars...

But put it next to this and try telling me you still want the Stang...

I'm actually a Holden guy (obvious from my profile pic) but I love XB Falcon Coupes.

You can see the similiarties in the design between the XB and (my favorite body style) 1971-1973 Mustangs.

Well the XB Falcon was actually made in 1973 and was meant to be the "Australian Mustang". Personally I think the Falcon is a lot better.

I know but good fuc*ing luck to the cops if they think a 300C or Stinger is gonna keep up with a 700HP R34 blazing around Brisbane or on the Gold Coast M1. I personally can't wait to gen an old Alfa or Lancia and just take off. Cops won't be able to keep up ha ha I'll be flying through the back roads of the Hinterland and if you think they will get my plates I'll take them off lol. Don't worry I ain't a criminal I just love that I have the opportunity to drive fast and not get caught by an SS Commodore.

Don't they employ nets and spikes? Our police would have just chased him to some road they placed a net on.

Yeah thats if they can actually suscessfully plant road spikes. I mean out on the backroads. Would be almost impossible.

Sure, you'd be using full power and he wouldn't be.

But you'd be using 125 HP and he'd be using 400.

True but it wouldn't always necessarily be an old Alfa. What if I had an RX7?

But how often does that even happen? That sounds like Hollywood logic, and reality doesn't operate by it.

All the car chases I see and hear of that take place in real life are always common cars.

Yeah but I've seen videos of guys racing in the Helensvale area (on the Gold Coast) on the M1 in Skylines, 1000HP Commodres etc. Know its not cop pursuits but racing still exists here. I'm glad the cops have slower cars might see the return of more street racing. :) slow police cars for the win.

You're forgetting that PolAir tends to take over on pursuits & in some cases even the 7News chopper is used to keep tabs on the suspect vehicle.

A backroad without intersections to flee to is the easiest road to place spikes on and wait.

Yeah but I'm just referencing to the fact that there is still street racing. February last year videos were put on youtube of Skyline GTRs racing each other in Sydney.

Police don't really need super powerful cars. Over here if someone is driving dangerously they will stop pursuing closely with cars so that they slow down and deploy some spike strips. At the end of the day, you are not gonna win against a helicopter no matter what you are driving.

Equally, they don't broadcast police chases over here on the news, they are not allowed to. Which probably makes a difference.

Didn't even realise you were from Oz. Where you from. You a Perth boy, a New South Welshman, Adelaide local, Tassie, Darwin resident or a Queenslander like me?
