Even if he is an SJW, judging someone by their profile picture alone is kind of foolish and close-minded. Not worth an entire response just to call someone a doo-doo head honestly.
Dear SergentFido, I've noticed that the sound files for the Oldsmobile V8 engines, are not working. Also, neither do the sirens. The only mods I have active as of now are the oldsmobiles. Help, please?
I think that for some of you (same issue was already reported) there is a mess between the latest version of the base mod, the codename, and the addon which is not updated, or the opposite situation maybe. If the two files are not up to date, something will go wrong, as when you have a sound folder in the base mod, the previous version of the addon which used official cars sounds won't work because of the sounds folder disable them. On my rig as well as on the testers one, and probably for a lot of people using the mod, this issue is not there.
All your files are up to date or not ? Try to delete them all and re-download. I don't have more detailled solution as it works and should work for you
Sadly, I don't have any sounds on your cars for a long time too :\ I checked and rechecked, left only the two freshly downloaded files in /mods/repo, moving other mods far away, cleared the cache - nothing Does it maybe matter that my /User folder is actually in game directory? I configured the game that way, cause there's not enough space on my C drive...
Annoying i don't know what to do and i can't test the mod currently as my work/gaming PC is being repaired. If you have no issues with textures, then it should be okay for sounds, as you have the proper vehicles/oldsfullsize/ structures. Did you installed the main codename mod manually, or is this a suscribed mod with auto update and install ? I can't do anything now but i'll try to test when my PC is back in a day or two.
I actually found out why there was no sound. I had "Effects Vol" turned down to 0, but all of other cars' engines sounded fine without it, only your mods uses "Effects Vol" for the engine sounds! Now I can hear all those "WRRRROOOOOMMMMM" perfectly!
Ah, nice find ! So all mods that still use the old Sbeam sound system must have the issue as well. Thanks for sharing the solution
Just wanting to point something you might have known out The Caprice Wagon suspension setup seems to be a little glitchy the wheels might go off-axis in a bad crash, seemingly detached but is still attached and functional Also, the J-beam might need some work round the back of the Wagon, partically the roof and the taillight section of the vehicle Objects in the cargo hold tend to stick out too, most notably with the engine and gearbox options
Thanks for feedback. i'm aware about all of those points indeed. Sticky boxes is not something i can do something about, because it's the nature of the jbeam, being not precise enough for collision detection when you have just a few nodes and beams defining the shape. Collisions are just detected on nodes, and i guess center of triangles, but not edges. The other points i should try to improve but i don't have really time available for modding. If i get back to it, it's on the whole body of all cars i would like to add deform limiters to avoid bad stretching. There is a flaw on the roof and rear quater panel it's true. We'll see. Anyway thanks for pointing out
He's the one making the long car chases videos ? I watched them, what do you mean by talk to him and look im up ?
