Yeah. Timing belts, a kind of HD rubber band not really used by BMW.

There is a reason most Glases got removed by BMW from the range, and the surviving ones got BMW motors after the acquisition - the companh had trouble making stuff that would appeal to the German customer.

E30/E34 used them? And it was not only for timing belts, there's been plenty of other stuff.

    Stuff like?

Because when I looked at it, it seemed that Glas cars got a lot more from BMW than vice cersa.

It's not like automated clutches were some newfangled technology - Saxomat was with Germans for quite some time by then.

They weren't in it only for a clutchless manual, as I said, there's a lot more when you swallow a small company.

I am 100% sure this is just me, but for some reason, I am really scared of the Mercedes SL65 AMG Black

    Screenshot-2016-03-11-210229.png 2009_Mercedes-Benz_SL65_AMG_Black_Series_back_large.jpg

Not like impressed, but genuiely terrified. Just looking at it sends cold shivers down my spine. I'd love to own one, but it scares me.

The SL65 AMG is probably my all time favorite AMG car. Ridiculously wide yet still tastefully implemented.

Yes, because what you brought up clearly is not satisfactory.

Or is your "BMW EXPLOYTED POOR COMPANEY!!!!!111!!!!!" theory bogus?

    Rofl, this got me good.

It's not even the only case, this used to be common practice in the auto industry back when there were lots of creative small manufacturers around. Just look at what happened to Panhard after they've been bought out by Citroen in the mid 1960s. This is not something that's been made up, it actually happened.

Don't try to make a martyrology, just accept that making wanted cars is more important than making advanced cars.

I never said anything about that lol, both sides of the spectrum are equally important but as in many cases we should remember the unsung heroes of the automotive world.

Would you kindly grow up and stop being so childish?
This isn't even close to being relevant to what he said - if you can't understand the point of buying smaller companies for their technology there's not much more reason to consider your opinion as being anywhere near educated.

Bah, foiled again. It's rained so freaking much that opening day the drag strip I was going to was moved back a week.

No racing for me, it seems.

could be worse, the seals on my car failed a long time ago so every time it rains hard it gets full of water, I am really glad I removed the interior when I did or it would be a biohazard

So, seeing as there aren't as many as I thought.........

Who is an actual car enthusiast, and not a fanboy/fake car guy?
