Made some progress on the MXAO (Reshade AO) which when done right does give really good results but for a newb like me it takes time to get it looking decent lol. Kind of done with the settings for it but the reason it didnt work at alla to start with was that i had to do some changes to the preprocessor settings for Reshade.

That ended up fixing the DOF too, which was reversed due to the same factory setting for Reshade so now the right things happen when i adjust it.

Maybe a screenshot of the latest edit? This is by far my favorite reshade, not too bad on performance and looks amazing

    Thanks man!
Ill get a few screenshots up at the same time as i release the latest edit. I still need to take a second look at the MXAO so that im certain i wont change those settings soon. Also need to see if im happy with the DOF.
The recent progress on the MXAO and overall Rehade settings does allow me to bring down the contrast alittle again without losing the darker shadows, the higher contrast was IMO abit too high. Need to test a few different scenes to see how it looks and performs so that i dont all of a sudden have something that looks mint in WCUSA downtown but crap in say Utah, also dont want to loose the way the shader have handled the warmth in the picture so far :)

How would one put the files in for it to work? I'm putting all the files inside the .zip and my game doesn't even load...

I never knew this existed...I'll go ahead and see how this works...
    --- Post updated ---
It still keeps crashing, even when I downloaded the Reshade you sent...am I supposed to rename something?

    I swear to god...I renamed dxgi.dll to d3d11.dll...now the game doesn't crash...

Problem is, nothing is appearing when I try Shift+F2...I am so freaking confused...

I havent tested it on a installation that hasnt run Reshade before, thought everything needed to get it to run was included in my zips. Looking at earlier Reshade version, that didnt utilize a .exe installation of Reshade simply says to extract the files into the Beamnd/Bin32 or /Bin64 folder.

@Danny Werewolf Are you running a x64 installation? In that case you should simply need to extract the files into your 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\Bin64' folder. It should start by itself and an extra Reshade loading bar appears at top when you start BNG so its easy to see if the installation worked.

Also, has anyone using this done so on a installation that hasnt used Rehade before? Would be good to know cause then i need to add info for first time users.

New edit out for testing, it should be considered a Beta-version, there has been alot of changes in this one but i didnt want to keep you waiting to long. Test it out and feel free to give me feedback. You can now also turn off ingame AO (im not using ingame HDR or light rays either, explains why my comparison pics look so flat).
This edit is probably heavier on the GPU than the previous version, due to the AO, which im also utilizing indirect lights (for example a really white car hit with sunlight can reflect some of that light onto the road, if the road is very reflective). The AO settins are what makes this a Beta, its using quite a high Radius setting to get the car shadows really dark and nice but that has a maybe unwanted effect on really small objects where they can at distance appear darker than some like. Ive notices that with this radius settings it does, as AO is meant to do, under certain circumstances show up as a more prominent faded dark AO 'cloud' around the car, than with lower settings. Its a compromise right now.
The DOF has got a workover after i got the AO working. This is kinda Beta too but thats due to me trying to find a compromise for it to look good in all cameras. Outside now is good, could be more blurred but that has a effect on th einside camera where it now has a very slight blur tht give a distance feel to it, so that you feel like there actaully a windshield between you and the road, instead of absolutely crystal clear view. Hood view has a similar slight blur that i might address further on.
Ive gone over the bloom settings, ambilight settings, curves, layers, you name it. Ive up'd the eye candy on this one, ever so slightly cause i guess thats the reason we use Reshade after all. Trying to achieve that, for me, perfect mix between realistic and sweet looking without it ending up needing a 16gb GPU.

ONLY UNZIP THE Rehade-shaders-FOLDER AND Test.ini, NOT THE OTHER TWO FILES SINCE THEY ARE NOT NEEDED AND WONT WORK IF YOUVE INSTALLED BEAMNG IN ANY OTHER LOCATION THAN THE ORIGINAL STEAM/STEAMAPPS/COMMON... ON C:

On to the goodies (dont ask me why i Ctrl-P on those last pics in Photo mode):

Extracting the files and that's all, was the first thing I did, as I thought it was just like the normal Reshades (Like Ilya Higuti's). It, as you can tell, didn't work, and the game kept crashing...

I never knew the Reshade.exe or whatever even existed, so no. I think most are used to Ilya Higuti/Cessni's setups for Reshade on BeamNG Drive, so I think that would help...a lot...

Like I said earlier, the game kept crashing until I renamed dxgi.dll > d3d11.dll ...but even then, the game could atleast open, but when I press Shift+F2, I could never change anything...and there was actually nothing in the way of changing settings...

Checked the last zip you attached:
Don't redistribute ReShade like that: its still tied to your install directory in Program Files: instead, only provide the reshade-shaders folder, the preset (Test.ini) and a link to the official ReShade download(link).

And on the official ReShade website, there is actually a note saying that you need to link users to the ReShade website instead of bundling a version that is specific to your install in the zip, its under the download button and I still don't know how some people miss it.

Thanks for the info Leon1996. Didnt know it was linked to the installation folder since the pre-.exe Reshade ones wasnt. Thatll hopefully explain Werewolfs problem.

Ive attached the original Reshade i use, to the first post. Werewolf, remove any old Reshade files and folders you have and reinstall Rehade using that.

After that, use the Reshade-shaders folder and test.ini from my zip and see if that gets things working. Im on my cell currently so cant help more than that right now. Also, cant remember if one is supposed to rename the d3d11-file to dxgi or not after Rehade is installerad, could refresh my memory on that when i get back to my computer, if you havent gotten it working by then.
This has really gotten abit bigger than me just sharing my settings for anyone that tginks it looks good and want to use on their own lol but glad to help anyone that cant get it working.

So first attempt, all the files that were downloaded are taken out, I think I reinstalled ReShade.exe. I didn't rename any of the files, still crashes. It took a bit longer to close the task though.

Renaming the file worked to play the game, but I don't even know what I would do. I'm pretty sure something should be here:
    5dcd5ff81ea8794cef39c9721b578890.jpg

Also, it made me create a new preset because it was supposedly redownloaded. Once I was able to get through the super small tutorial, I could change from Test.ini or Werewolf.ini (What I named mine when it make me name a new one) I ended up deleting my preset in this one, as nothing appeared. I hit "Reload" with both of them, but none of them worked...

Can you attach a screenshot of your ReShade settings tab? You might need to set the locations for the shaders here.

Your shader paths are incorrect, here is a example of how they should look like (look at effect and texture search paths):

In the Bin64 folder you placed a "dxgi.ini" file with the mod.
    1.jpg

There you need to replace the location of your game.
For example for me is: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\Bin64
    Something like this:
    2.jpg 3.jpg

And if everything is okay then the ReShade will load in all files when you starting the game.

I hope it will be helping you :)

Btw. the mod is awesome and thanks to added this to the game :)

Damn this is so good, my only request is to just bump up the saturation and brightness by a little bit and it’ll be perfect :)

    Thank you!
I can take a look at it, shouldnt be a problem as long as its not effecting much else :)

That dxgi.ini file was inserted as I installed Reshade.exe...

Once I pressed "Reload" after I pathed the paths to Shaders and Textures, my game crashed. I will try a few more times...

I dont know how experienced youre with Reshade but heres some info. Went through the settings and tried to find a combo that sounds like what youre after. I wont release this as a new edit so youll have to do some changes to it. It does IMO look good with more saturation using the way explained below but tends to go abit over the line to too much eye candy for me :)
It tends so shift alot depending on what map and the actual lighting settings for that map.

Ingame press Shift+F2 to open the Reshade window.
Go to the Settings tab and change Performance Mode to Configuration Mode. This should automatically reload Reshade, wait til its done.
Go to Home tab and scroll all the way down in both parts of the window, check the box next to 'Vibrance' (a very nice Reshade shader) in the uppert part of the window, in the lower part under 'Vibrance' change the setting 'Vibrance' to '0.500' and see if that looks like you want it. If theres to much color, set it to less, to little then up it.
If its too dark for you, scroll all the way up to 'Curves' in both windows and set the top value so '0.300' and see if that looks lighter in the way you want it. This also effects 'Vibrance' so you might want to change that again. Ive got used to the contrast5 that the 'Curves' gives so im not the right guy to set it for you, Vanilla BNG now looks like pastell colors for me lol.

Ive attached comparison pics, the first screenshot is my current config, the second is with Vibrance on and set to 0.500, the last is Vanilla BNG. Also attached a pic of the Reshade window with a few hints. Note that ive taken screens on Utah so there is alot of sandy colors going on here, might look overkill at a first glance.
