oh yeah the whole 1.5l 3 cylinder stuff and all of the german brands are idiots when it comes to handling customer support
Yeah i once tried to open the map compartment on the back of the front seats of a 5 series but it fell off without appliying force
RWD isn't obsolete. Who told you that shit? It has no drawbacks except production cost. --- Post updated --- search "bxe engine failures". And my dad had a Passat B3 that had an appetite for coils and nearly left us stranded on the side of the road. A few months ago his Touran from 2008 with the almighty 1.9TDi had to have its turbo, actuator, clutch and flywheel changed just as it hit 140 000km - 1500 euro(3000BGN) in repairs, when the car costs under 5000 euro(10 000BGN). So reliable...
The 90's and 80's were the best era of these 3 brands.Audi came with i5 and quattro that defined Audi's future,Bmw came with M3 which is best sports division off all time, and merc came with w124 e class- Best mercedes ever produced. Although, if i had to choose, i would pick Bmw for its 1m coupe or M2 for modern world.
Audi currently has the best styling of the 3, although they are now leaving behind the clean, simple designs that once defined their personality to follow the mass with tacky and vulgar details all round. Average dynamics don't match their "premium" pretentions just yet. BMWs are still the best to drive. Just rush in so you don't have to look at your car from the outside for long... Mercedes-Benz is in a tough spot right now: contrived looks, declining quality, lagging behind in terms of driving dynamics... I appreciate their attention for safety, so I'd rather be in a Merc if I knew I had to crash my car... Speaking personally, I would get neither of them, I find them all grossly overrated. Now, a car that drives like a BMW, as safe as a Merc, styled by an italian design house, engineered and built with great care by the Japanese... That would be my pick.
RWD is less stable on road (especially if the driver is unexperienced) and less capable off-road than AWD or FWD, you don't need to be a genius to understand why. Like there were no BMWs in our family. Sadly, there was (and that one 2008 1-series was enough). Bought new, serviced only at the official dealership, less than 10000 km/year. Steering rack replaced 2 or 3 times (about 2000€/rack), bunch of engine sensors replaced yearly (about 1000-1500€/year), faulty airbags to top it off (proven by a crash).
