I know this might be a bit of a bump, but I have to get this suggestion out there. How about Cat and Mouse? There are 2 teams, red team and blue team. The cat's are a particular car class, let's say, B, A, or, S class. And the mouse is C class or below. Of course it doesn't have to be set up this way but it really doesn't matter at this point. But the entire object of the game is to either protect your mouse and get it across the line first, or keep the opposing team's mouse from crossing the line first. Now the cars would have to be a bit more unrealistic, but we can't be having mechanical failures for this game. Any feedback?
I like the idea, but i dont really think the realism should be turned down. The whole point of these minigames all comes down to one thing: keep you car running, but still complete the objectve. If you disabled mechanical failures, it would kinda ruin the point. I like the idea, though. +1 support from me.
I like the idea, but maybe you could have slower hatchback cars as the mouse but have very heavy cars/ vans as the cat. Then the cat has to manage their own health but can do more damage to the mouse
If you're going for a cat and mouse game, you should have the most upgraded version of a hatchback(not super fast, but fast enough, and very nimble, like a mouse), and the cat should have the Bolide with strenght upgrades(really really fast, and not too sluggish compared to the hatchbacks)... The core of this idea of crossing the finish first doesn't appeal that much to me though, would be hard to balance. I think it would be funnier if you had to collect something scattered around the map. Then maybe for some objects, you could catch them in 2 different ways, depending on what side you're on: for one you'd have to squeeze yourself into a tight spot(for the mouse), but you could also catch it by getting up to high speed and jumping for it(if you're the cat). I like the cat and mouse idea though, I think...
You could be collecting cheese that is scattered around the map which would offer some strategy as well. I don't think it should be insta-death though, it should depend on how well the cat's beat up your car (the mouse). There was something like this on a TV show where I think the cat had to drive over the mouse tail if I remember correctly.
Ah yes, that would be a very good twist! Maybe collect rare car parts of as the reply above me says, cheese!
I like the idea, but maybe when you are it your car is slightly faster than the runners car. Just to keep the game moving.
Trials HD and Trials Evolution are a good source for mini games, in my opinion (even though they're bike games). They would look very good: 1)There's a giant, metallic sphere, following a path with jumps and obstacles, and your car must stay on top of it as long as possible, or until you reach the end. When you fall, you lose. 2)Same giant, metallic sphere, but this time you're inside it, and your car must stay intact as long as possible, or until you reach the end. Wrecking the car ends the mini game. 3)This can be fun. Your right wheels have loose bolts, and staying too long on all four wheels will make them fall, so you have to use some ramps to stay on two wheels for as long as possible, and you must avoid rolling over. 4)Your car has a curve, transparent tube on top of it, containing a "small" sphere, and the car must follow an obstacle course. The sphere must stay into the tube for as long as possible, or until you reach the end. And here are my two ideas: An offroad obstacle course, with heavy cubes falling randomly from the sky. You must reach the end without being crushed. This might be hard to develop, but... You must reach the end of a pretty long track, but there's a very powerful wind, which can make your car roll over.
It would be really cool, but I don't know if there can be explosions in BeamNG. As I already said, though, it would be very nice!
He didn't mean "EXPLOZIONZZS!!!111!!1!", it's a challenge from a game called Trials HD, maybe the developers could replace the explosives with... I don't know, a triggered object that wrecks your car when it hits the trailer too hard or falls down. The point wasn't the explosive, but a mini game where you have to be delicate. With explosions it would surely look nice, but would be too hard for the creators to make it.
This a cracking idea Conkers... Top Gear style haha, I am pretty sure someone will have a bash at Lua coding this in with some kind of detachable hooks on the parts system. It would be hilariously good fun to play online or locally with a friend
Imagine this http://www.kongregate.com/games/duckets/you-are-the-road-molyjam-2012 but with better AI that had a strong will to live, and BeamNG's physics.
I'd be surprised if this wasn't codable with LUA. And if nobody does it, I'll do it myself. That was a hell of a lot of fun, and would be simply brilliant with BeamNG's realistic physics and damage.
