As I understand it, mercury is a poison under normal terms, but because it's usually inorganic your body is smart enough not to try to process it. If it becomes organic, it fools your body into taking it in as a nutrient. That's where the real damage is done.
Can a reviewer delete their review after an author has responded to it? There was a very constructive 2 star review on my mod that I fixed everything needed for the next update, and responded to him with a list of my previous reasoning, the changes and their reasoning, and a thank you. Now, the review is gone? I'm not complaining, it's a low review gone, just wondering.
I think you're vastly underestimating how toxic mercury is.. You can't just 'hold it in your hand without gloves for a short amount of time'
Organic mercury is nasty, but I'm not talking about organic mercury and I've never met anyone who assumes a conversation about mercury is about organic mercury. Just talk to nearly anyone who went to schools in the 70's, look at one of many YouTube videos, or watch Mr Wizard. Just look how often Cody'slab has stuck his hand or foot into mercury and he doesn't have major nerve damage. LD of inorganic mercury is around 1-4 grams for an adult and as I already said it takes a very long time for enough to absorb into the skin to have noticeable effects.
Evolution works like this: Species that can put out enough many off-springs can have most of off-springs dying while attempting something really stupid, sometimes some stupid thing actually works without killing offspring and so evolution has happened, then stuff just keeps repeating itself. Those who manage to stay away from stupid things do manage to produce some off-springs and those crazy, but lucky enough will set new trends and make really lot of off-springs, because generally cool factor is what gets you.... Okay, I'll leave it there.
Yeah, but only if you live, chances of living trough activity decrease quite dramatically as level of stupidity increases, from individual point of view it might not be course of action to pursue, however from evolutionary point of view it might be just the thing needed for human race to actually evolve. So when people see some really stupid activity it has to be remembered that such is just good for the species. Remember how evolutionary leaps often happen around time of mass extinctions? Clearly there can't be any other explanations for that
I just tried to use Cheatengine 6.5.1 on a ROBLOX game called Greenville Beta and once I selected the .exe I was kicked from the server. Is it me or am I the only one who's surprised by that?
Fixing one of my newly acquired Nad's... Nad 705. Symptoms; no display, no sound even though it comes out of protection. Elechickens tape! She's no virgin, somebodys fondled her before. "Service position" Yeah, okay Nad.... Well after a little digging around I found that the front panel LCD and the Pre amp IC's both share the same supply from the power supply, 15v. After probing around I found that the +15v rail was missing. Common thing amoung all Nad's ever made, bad solder joints. IC301 the +15v regulator had some pretty bad lookin' joints. Touched them up and hey presto we have sound again! I love a free fix. Another bad solder joint on the Headphone jack board. If you look closely you'll see the crack in the solder around the solder leg. A testimony to Nad's quality control, one side of this resistor was never soldered down... Touched up a few more bad joint's around some high heat components and the input jacks and she's all ready to go. Nad's have some great sound quality. For the brief time they're working... A true British Amplifier. Just need to replace the backlight lamps for the LCD and it'll be good to go.

Well, since people post World of Tanks stories in this thread, I figured this would be a good time to mention that Wargaming has joined the ranks of evil companies who abuse copyright law to censor criticism.
I thought it was just me, not "people" =P What happened this time? The only time I know of them doing any censoring is Fochgate, even with the recent obj.257 criticism I haven't noticed any censoring.
Call of duty is dead anyway, I have over 900 hours in BOII online and now i really have no intention of playing it anymore.
