Hi all, I'm working on my first scenario and I'm running into a few issues with it... I've made a few autocross tracks and tuned a car to go with them, now I'd like to upload it but I'm having trouble getting everything to work... Here's my issues: First problem is with the info_mycar.json and the .png... The car appears in the selection menu with the other Miramar's but the photo is just white.. The dimensions of the pic are correct but there's not picture. Also, in the .json, the performance stats are not showing up correctly. The max speed on the car is 106mph and I put that in the .json. When I look at the stats in the game, it says the top speed is 237mph... The torque rating on the car is 158 ft/lbs but in the stats it says 118... I took a screenshot of the .json in notepad++ beside the performance menu in the game so you can see the problem... My next issue is with getting the mod to work. When I'm building it and it is in the unpacked folder, everything works perfectly but when I compress the levels folder and put it with the other mods, everything fails. The car appears as just the base model and not with my modifications and although the track I laid out shows up, the waypoints do not. So my super technical autocross track is there, just with out waypoints and a finish line... Now I built the track using 3 prefabs; one holds the car and the waypoints, one has the start/stop boxes and the third holds the turns. The start/stop boxes and the turns load and the right car shows up, just not modified and without waypoints... Now I think the reason my car isn't showing up is because I have my vehicles folder in the wrong place. Do I compress my levels and vehicles folders separately, or do I have to put the vehicles folder somewhere in the levels zip? I'm not entirely sure what my file structure should look like when I'm done... I have no idea why my waypoints aren't showing up though... --- Post updated --- I found the problem with my waypoints.. They didn't save when I re-packed the prefab. --- Post updated --- Ok, I'm moving forward. Almost everything works. I'm still having the problem with the .json but I haven't been dealing with that yet. The scenario loads correctly and spawns the car, complete with the custom licence plate. The color is correct, it has the right wheels and a roll cage but none of the engine or suspension upgrades are there... From in the unpacked folder: I have my folder called levels, in that I put my vehicles folder and I zipped the levels folder and called it autocross. I put the autocross zip in my mods folder and launch the game. This is getting very frustrating! How do I get my parts configuration to work correctly? Why is it only loading the body modifications and not the engine and suspension?
If you're talking about having a mod that includes both a track, scenarios, and vehicles all at once, the file structure should be as followed (when viewed inside the archiver): Mod Title -> Levels folder and Vehicles folder -> and then from there: Levels -> YourMapName -> Map content and likewise, Vehicles -> Vehicle folder -> vehicle content This is what should be inside: (minus the mod_info, I don't know for sure if that is relevant anymore.) As for fixing the vehicle, it'd be a lot easier if you uploaded the vehicle as a zip here so I, or someone else, can look into it and tell you what is broken.
Ok cool, thanks for the file structure info, I'm going to try that now. Here's the zip with the setup. It spawns the car correctly in freeroam, just has the wrong performance specs and no pic...
Sweet! The pic is up now, where did I go wrong?? I got the scenario to work now too. Thanks again for the help.. Here's a teaser of my up-and-coming Autocross series: (it's incomplete, the time goal is set wrong but you can still fail if you crash) I just slapped this one together to try and get everything to work..
You can't have spaces in file names Also, I don't know if this is true but I've always been under the impression that vehicles can only either be "factory" or "custom" in the configuration.
Makes sense... I'll change my configuration back to custom to see if that fixes the performance specs.. Thanks again for all the help
