If you have windows 7, 8 or 8.1 you can get it for free And as for how to download it; https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/windows-10-upgrade
Well there's 2 options 1. Get windows 7, 8 or 8.1 as a base operating system, then upgrade to windows 10 from there (cheaper) or 2. Just buy windows 10
So I can either buy 7 for like $100 or 10 for $120? ha I have noticed a lot of people pirate it. Is there any actual risk or do I worry too much?
Everyone pirates it and runs Windows Loader so it is seen as legitimate. Just make sure you run it before installing Windows updates.
Took the plunge today and immediately my internet was tanked: 'Windows socket registry entries required for network connectivity are missing'. I've read all 18 pages of this thread and not a mention of it and am just curious if anyone has encountered this. There are solutions offered here and there and will try a few but I reverted back to 8.1 so I could have access to the net for answers. I waited this long to upgrade so the bugs could be worked out. Looks like this particular error has been reported on tech builds as far back as March 2015....a bit of bullshit if you ask me. My revert back to 8.1 was quick, flawless and beautiful.
mine has a glitchy start menu, but i refreshed the computer (love those options) and its fine, touch wood.
windows 10 is good for what i use it for seeing i loved windows 7 but i liked windows 8 its kinda "in between"
Take Win7 or Win10. Win8 isn't good (okay, you can work with it, got around with it nicely, 10 is just nicer to me).
Pirates are filthy, unless you're a broke kid who likes viruses and JAIL/PRISON, don't pirate (I was a kid with a job, once 20+ years ago, slaving concrete construction work, NOT fun, it was hell, but it was MONEY). Pirates (and advocates of them, which you are doing) also get BANNED. No one LOVES Microsoft but if you want Windows you must pay to use it if it does not come with your PC with a legit license, these are the RULES. It's not expensive if you look around & know where to look. Try www.pricewatch.com you can often find surplus brand-new copies of Windows 7 64-bit for home or Pro for 50~60$ (phone activation only) and it's even cheaper if you know other places to look for legit keys for a cheap price. You must have a key to install Windows 10 now. You can use your Windows 7 or 8 key on the side of the case. The free upgrade period expired on the 31st of DEC 2017 at 11:59 pm West-coast standard time, USA. You can also install your previous operating system even if you don't have the files for it, by entering your legitimate license key from the side of the computer case, into the Microsoft website. Microsoft supplies Windows ISO's free of charge for users of Windows 7, 8.x and 10 if you have a legit key. Again, the upgrade period for Windows 10 has expired - THAT BEING SAID, it is stated that you can still install a new, clean copy, from boot-up of the computer, by entering your license key for Windows 7 or 8 into the box it prompts you. --Cheers. P.S. Pirated Windows will know when it's pirated, even if it doesn't tell you, it will leave you open to many attacks, and also less scrupulous folks will upload modified Windows ISO's to the pirate sites so they can watch you do things on your computer. I have seen this stuff first hand. Pirates always get viruses and get their bank details, Steam accounts, etc, stolen quite quickly. It might be okay when you're a rebel teen but not as a respectful adult. We must pay our way. If you don't want to pay the Microsoft gods (A sentiment I can't put you down for honestly), use Linux, as it's free and will get you on the net, but it won't run Beamng.drive sadly (yet, but no linux support promised).
Another dumb troll responding to a post I made two years ago. Thankfully the forums let us ignore such users. Try start an argument on Facebook with the rest of your kind and propaganda, will you? You have no reason to attempt and control my life, so keep out of it and stop assuming who and what I am.
*claps* I am in the 98th percentile, intelligence-wise, and retired in my 30s, you have fun kiddo. Hahahaha. *mad scientist laugh* No TY for Tracebook, I don't do social networking, This is as close as it gets son, and that's close enough. --Cheers.
