BeamNG is a game that focuses a lot on realism and overall vehicle physics and performance. To me, adding an electric car seems like the next step for not only the real world, but also in beamNG. With hybrid vehicles also going into the mix, we could have cars like the Chevy volt and fully electric cars like tesla. This would definitely be a big addition to beamNG.
Yeah, but they are just electric versions of cool cars... We need a prius ripoff just to have something other than ETKs to crash intentionaly.
Last I heard, multiple power plants are currently impossible, which rules out hybrids. Hopefully someday the driveline system will be changed to allow it. As for fully electric cars, I don't think properly implementing them would be a problem. I really want to see more types of engines in the game in general, such as a rotary. Hopefully there will be an official use for the V10 in the coming updates.
There is absolutely zero problem with having multiple engine like devices at once. (And never has been since the powertrain was introduced)
There is a vehicle suggestion thread for these kind of things tho. But it would be far easier gameplay sense to have a hybrid instead.
I thought so, but would it mean you have to use the gas engine for one transmission and the electric for another? Haven't seen the powertrain setup in a while, but last I saw it wasn't possible to use 2 engines on one differential.
Technically this is no problem, we just don't have any devices for this yet. Anyone with enough knowledge can create one though.
