Oh how you retards make me angry. Back in the day, crappy mods with unedited jbeams only came from the outside - from Russki Modding & Co. Now, this trash has taken a refuge straight in the middle of our forum. All thanks to you clickbait mod onanists. /rant Doesn't have anything to do with the Vendetta mod, it's awesome!
Well, just know that I fully support this mod and its development. I couldn't care less about the clickbait C3 mod; it'll be terrible to drive, horribly-deforming, and horrendously unrealistic. Also, it likely won't have very much customization (and won't be nearly as customizable as the Vendetta), and it just doesn't have that...passion, the drive, the same level of awesome that a great mod has. This will very likely be a great mod, and will be 100 million times better than that clickbait C3 because it will epitomize the great things about BeamNG.drive. BeamNG.drive is about driving, whether it be in a rusty Burnside in a demo-derby, a race-prepped I-Series around WCA's racetrack, a base-model Pigeon up the mountain trails of JRI, a T-Series cement mixer around ECA's highway, a bunch of Miramar race cars around Hirochi Raceway, or even a rock-crawler Hopper around Gridmap's off-road section. That's why I continuously play it to this day: I can have so many diverse driving experiences within a half-hour or an hour's worth of gameplay, doing things that would never be allowed in a normal racing game. If I want to compare the performance of a base-model Pigeon and a T75 Long Haul around ECA's Street Stage 2, I can do that using the Time Trials section. If I want to autocross in a LeGran S V6, I can do that. If I want to have a chase scene between a Dove and a comparable Satsuma 210 around JRI, I can do that. If I want to build up a stupidly-overpowered Burnside with no grip and try to take it around the Industrial Racetrack, I can do that. If I want to break physics by smashing a Covet into the ground using sun gravity, I can do that. If I want to tear a Moonhawk apart using nothing but the node-grabber, I can do that. BeamNG.drive is also about customization. If I want to stick the drag engine into a brakeless, wobbly old Barstow, I can do that with no problems from the game. If I want to take an SBR4 and stick off-road tires and a huge amount of boost on it, I can do that. If I want to try and tune a T75 for racing, I can do that (and I have made it work). If I want to try and race a D15 on its bare wheels, I can do that. Pretty much, if I can imagine it, I can do it; pretty much one of the major reasons why I'm patiently awaiting the Vendetta. The Vendetta will be like a lighter, better-handling, faster, and more aerodynamic Barstow. It will be far more customizable than the clickbait C3 (which is just a Bolide with a C3 mesh slapped on it), and it will be more accurate to the C3 than that clickbait car, and not just in the powertrain. If you manage to get things like the aerodynamics, chassis dynamics, deformation, and mechanical endurance as accurate as possible to the real car (or the set of real cars closest to it), I wouldn't care if it was a 27-horsepower, three-wheeled, three-speed, diesel-powered trike. It would behave realistically, crash realistically, and feel like a real car, and less like a game vehicle. It would even get realistic fuel economy, endure a demo-derby about as well as the real thing(s) would, and would feel a lot more natural to drive. That's why the Beam team didn't just start slapping double-wishbone suspension onto every shell they had back in 2013/2014; they wanted to wait until they had slide-nodes to accurately simulate MacPherson-strut suspension. Because of that, cars like the LeGran, Pessimas, 800 Series, I-Series and any other car that uses struts feel very close to the real-life cars that they intend to be closest to. They come much closer to the simulation aspect of BeamNG.drive than if they were to all have the Bolide's suspension geometry. That's why I don't care about those clickbait cars; they don't epitomize the values of BeamNG.drive nearly as much. They just are meant to sit there and look pretty. Sure, some people might like that, and they can feel free to make and/or download that stuff. I, on the other hand, wouldn't care if a car mod has the most beautiful looks of any mod ever; if it drives and crashes like garbage, I'm not going to be driving it. If it doesn't behave anything like how I expect that car to behave in real life, it means nothing to me. I sure hope that the Vendetta comes as close as you can get to the actual C3, since I haven't driven a C3 yet in any game, and most muscle car mods that we currently have (while excellent in their own right) typically are like re-styled Moonhawks with different shells on them. That's fine: if they're really well-made, I don't have a problem with those mods being made (like Mr. Twiglesworth's Caldera/Coucal/Alderon), but they just won't behave like their real-life counterparts. The Caldera has a full frame like the Moonhawk that it is based upon, when it ideally should have a front sub-frame like the Barstow. It's not very much of a difference to most people, but to me, it can mean a whole world of difference between a realistic car and a car that just doesn't feel right. TL;DR: I'm hyped for the Vendetta, and I couldn't care less about clickbait cars. Accuracy is what I look for in a car, not style, and I hope this comes as close as possible to the real C3 in its handling and deformation.
There are screenshots of development on the first few pages, and one I posted in Dev. Screenshots. More are on the way once I get through the busy stuff in my life atm... Granted I just lost my grandmother earlier this month, things around my house have been a little bit chaotic. That should sort out after the new year Ik, these people don't truly grasp the awesomeness of soft body physics, they just care about visuals. Well I will just have to be patient and wait for the skin to be made. By any chance, did you not make it upside down? Text wall BeamNG.Drive is everything you said it is, you could say that again. Clickbait cars are stupid and poorly represent the game. This isn't like City Car Driving for example, a Russian made driving simulator, where "mods" are literally stolen meshes put into the game and only require a little bit of work to make them decent mods. This game, is so much more in depth than just some generic car game. The realism in the physics engine surpasses any other driving game by far, but the cost is that you have to put more care into the creation of content in order to make it high quality.
yes the c3 is terrible. it has etk wheels lol. i choose the Vendetta over that anyday, even without looking at vendetta pics
What happened? Nobody can view his profile, and his picture is a white guy standing in the back of a blue background..??
Oh ok good, if we went away, i'd be sad, i love this mod too much. How is saying a white guy racist boi joke intended
Atm the forums are just too shaken up for me to truly be part of them at this moment in time. I am not completely gone, though I won't be posting any more beyond this one for awhile. I hope to complete my mods without any more community interaction than is absolutely necessary to complete them. Once the forums settle out and are solid once again, I will start posting more often. Right now it's not a good thing to be posting constantly in this mess until I am certain how my posts will affect me as a user under the new changes being implemented. I hope you guys understand where I am coming from, both in the "Post reporting" thread and here. Be nice, I will be watching.
I think driv3r1142 will, he just won't post updates on the forum. edit: he rated my post "agree," that probably confirms it.
