I know multiplayer hasn't seem the light of code, and probably won't for a long time but here's an idea. Ten cars or so are on the grid in groups of two, connected by a chain on their hitches/frames. In order to win the race you have to work together with the possibility of smashing into each other and roll over/destroy the cars, yet at the end its every man for himself to cross the line first. Imagine the destruction.
Don't forget about cutting the brakes on the rear car... I could see issues with players that have high pings causing physics errors. We also need hitches/lockgroups/ropables before we can hitch cars together without merging them in an editor. I like the idea though. Reminds me a bit of Test Drive: Eve of Destruction
Well obviously it needs to wait until the bugs are worked out. And of course multiplayer needs implemented... soon I hope because single player gets boring.
i'd imagine that lan multiplayer would probably come way before online multiplayer, why? because lan multiplayer shouldn't have the problem of ping (unless you cheat, and get online by using hamachi or something, in which case, depending on ping, it may be a bit laggy) meaning then, the only problem you might run into, is fps, of course, that's just not really something thats easily fixed, so yeah
Or how about a tug-of-war mode, where a group of cars is split into two teams and chained together. As the cars pull, the chain would cause deformation to the chassis. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Not only cars. If you tried RoR, you will see there will be Buses, Trucks with Trailer, race cars, planes and more. I would love to see such buses soon: Multiplayer races with buses, hmm
Hey bud, chill with the semantics. The current catch-all term for multiple automobiles/vehicles of any kind is "cars". Other than that, I agree. I have 3DS Max and I'm planning on learning the program, and I would LOVE to model an articulated bus. However, I have a feeling that the jbeams would be a huge pain... But it would be worth it!
