hey i have a 3d model of a twin turbo v10 for the moonhawk if you want it. i made the model a while ago but never got round to learning to jbeam
Nice, If you want, I could install it in my mod. PM me and I will se if I will be able to learn how to attach a model to the car. (I'm a begginer modder who just about knows what do the values in jbeam files mean)
Ai'Torror updated Moonhawk V10 Swap with a new update entry: Black and orange muscle car? What could go wrong? Read the rest of this update entry...
When climbing the motor cracks, it breaks or just simply stops.. Making it work hard makes it just.. die easy..
That's weird... I've tried pushing all of the versions threw as much hell as possible on every map and it was fine. Tell me what were you doing and with which config... If you were towing a Semi trailer full of cola and sprayed a 500 shot of nitrous then the engine should explode from overtorque, and that's normal as it is supposed to be a race car and not a freaking semi truck.
https://www.beamng.com/threads/adding-materials-to-the-custom-parts.50188/ Engine model is 80% done. After I figure out how to add custom materials I'll slightltly change the intake manifold section to reasemble the one from the modern gavril V8s, but extending it by another 2 cylinders. It will most likely be released during next week or so, as I have to get a small brake from modelling as I've spent 13hrs straight yesterday trying to figure out how to use blender. --- Post updated --- Sooo... What were you doing? It could be the mod fault, but untill I know what is your problem and untill I'll be able to recreate it, I'm not going to be able to fix it if it is a bug or sth.
Due to lack of help from devs and better modders, this mod is going to be put on hold, as I don't know how to make proper meshes for freshly modeled parts and none who has that knowledge wants to explain to me what should I do.
I wish i could help u, since this is a great mod dude. Let's hope for the best. keep it up whit the great work man....
Ai'Torror updated Moonhawk V10 Swap with a new update entry: Materials fix Read the rest of this update entry... --- Post updated --- The mod is back on track again! In the next update you will most likely see a fully modeled engine and turbos. (hopefully) Thanks to all of the people who helped me!
The mod is back on track again! In the next update you will most likely see a fully modeled engine and turbos. (hopefully) Thanks to all It sounds like a V10 in my opinion, as it uses the in-game V10 engine sounds. I might have gotten over the top with afterfires with the sidepipes, but oh well. At least it sounds cool.
Thanks for 2500 downloads! Here is a little sneak peak of what's going on: I'm refining the Twin Turbo model a bit more, and working on getting some textures for it. Later, I'll make a new intake similar to the one on Gavril 5.5L V8. I've decided to do the turbo setup a bit different this time, so the intake pipe will fead the manifold from the back of the engine bay, which means that I'll have to spin around the manifold for the TT config. It will take a bit of time tho, I'll try to keep you updated.
Okay, so expect a small update during this week adding a V10, ESC, TC and ABS to the burnside special, and maybe I could throw a custom skin just for the sake of it. And as the time to spread the mod to different vehicles has came, give me suggestions about in which vehicles you would like to see the V10 setup, or in which you would like to see just a ESC,TC and ABS combo. --- Post updated --- Sadly, no progress on the model textures as it is very time consuming and I still don't really get it. If someone would like to do some texture work, just PM me and I'll send you the mod version with untextured engine and turbos model ready for texturing.
Work on the model continues... I've ditched the moonhawk engine model and Replaced it with modified Gavril V8 model. I've also decided to leave the advanced materials thingies for someone else, so in the next update you will see the hopefully finished model and BASIC (that means made by me = terrible) skin for it. And maybe I'll sneak in an AWD system (purely functional, I'm not skilled enough to make a proper model, jbeam etc...) --- Post updated --- I've got the new engine model all working, N/A intake works just fine, now onto the tricky part... Turbochargers.... --- Post updated --- Oh and I'd forgot! Big thanks to @jimmeh2000 for the V10 headers and getting me to work on model by sending me a basic Moonhawk V10 block and headers which only the headers got used as I didn't quite like the idea of a carbureted V10
Okayyyy... So remember the custom header/turbo setup thingy made from the SBR4 turbos? ... Yeah I've kind of ditched 13hrs of my work, just to make this from the ETK I turbos in about 20 min.... It might work afterall... I just need to remember to not add much in the way of custom piping or the textures will mess up bad. --- Post updated --- And I'll probably have to make custom inner fenders --- Post updated --- If you need advice, I could give you one, not the best English isn't a big deal to me, as I'm 16 years old and most of the people in my class still don't get what's the difference between Present Simple and Continuous, so I'm kind of used to it As long as you will try to translate the sentences yourself I should be able to understand (google translate is terrible dealing with whole sentences). And yeah, the bolide is a good idea... I'll keep that in mind while copying the mod to other vehicles, I'm sure that it will need some sort of stability control when I'll put over 1000hp in it If you want to help me with the mod, you're welcome. Just crate a private conversation on the forum and we will figure out what you could do --- Post updated --- And when it comes to the Viper V10 that you've linked... This is my "project mod", so I want to learn how stuff works by doing most of it myself. + I never was a fan of putting Real Life brands into games that weren't supposed to have them... I want to keep my mod with the spirit of BeamNG. That's why I went for Gavril V10 (but with Viper torque curve for now). Tomorrow I'll work a bit more on the turbos and if I'll be able to finish them I'll take a look at fitting AWD to the moonhawk. After that I'll go and just slap all of the parts from this mod into different vehicles.
