Not OP, but assuming I'm referencing the correct family of OHC V8s, the engines should make peak power at lower RPM with more mid range torque. Peak torque figures should be higher, assuming the in-game figures are (crank) BHP and not WHP. I blab on them here.
Yeah, and why not a 1567968587569678.7534 L V450 7500 valves? C'mon, with a displacement of 5.5L you have plenty of room to improve the engine. Use a supercharger, they are there for something
Generally, at least from GM, 3/4 and 1-ton trucks don't get a bigger V8. Usually, the standard V8 for those trucks is the larger engine option that is available for the 1/2 ton trucks. So they either get a diesel or they get a transmission and rear diff with lower gearing to increase wheel torque, and the heavier duty suspension.
That is true. The 454/455 is generally a special order engine for larger companies looking to save money vs. buying a diesel. But dodge and ford sold v10 gas engines in their 3/4 and 1 ton trucks for several years. I have one (488 c.i.)and I paid half what I would have for a diesel in the same vintage and mileage. But mpg is nothing to brag about. Doesnt matter when you saved yourself nearly 10k on the sale though lol.
