However, it's a very good thing we keep bringing up these "forgotten about" things. It's good to be reminded of past ideas every once in a while, and see how they match up with current ideas. Some ideas might not fit the direction the devs are currently headed, but some might just come back to life.
I did, but it will live on forever in my sig. OT: I think the update will be soon, and I think it will have WCA and possibly the Bluebuck.
WCUSA is 4 square kilometers like ECUSA, they even said it was ECUSA's counterpart. Italy is the map that will be 16 square kilometers.
I think that some sort of tire thermal simulation is coming, as the linelock is here, the same as in previous one we've gotten a transbrake.
...with a 186-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four, of all things. But it still is awesome that I now have the freedom to not crash into crowds while showing off!
No, he's not suggesting that. I'm sure he mean that it's a hint that tire thermals have been worked on. Because in mentioned video there's a feature "for drag racing fans". Going further, it's a feature that allows you to heat up tires by doing a small burnout (FRICTION!*) in a proper way to get highest grip point. So what's the difference? We can do burnouts now. Yes, but to make a burnout you need to press brake pedal to stop front ( or rear ) wheels, but by pushing brake pedal you apply forces to all wheels*** so when you do burnout without line lock you are pushing a lot of stress to engine, powertrain and brakes with lower efficiency of heating up tires. You can see the difference now, step 1 just take something RWD, put a welded differention on it, turn of ESC if it have and try to make a stationary burnout, if car is powerfull enough to overcome brakes and tire friction you'll make a some kind of burnout, but your car will overheat very soon, step 2, get rid of rear brakes and repeat burnout, it will be way less stressful for car and wheels will spin faster, produce more smoke, but engine will not overheat so fast * not by a flameable fluid ** warm tires have better grip than cold tires *** most common in ~4:1 ratio Front/Rrear Edit: @ManfredE3 I'm refering mostly to line lock ability and heating up tires by friction, as simulating lighter fluid woud be rather strange decission to put now in game ( if even ), as it's not as easy and there are way higher priority stuff atm. But as Diamondback informed us, we won't get tire thermals with it.
The 800 is just my favorite test platform and I had to use a model that doesn't outright overpower the brakes anyway And nope, I just implemented this because it's easy and someone asked for it, nothing to do with tire thermals.
So what you're saying is.... lighter fluid is the most efficient way of preparing for a safe drag race because it heats up the tires enough to give a sufficient amount of grip when a burnout cannot suffice?
