What are your guys' opinions on the 2003 Honda Accord with the V6 option?

Also, how much would it cost to insure for a 16 year old guy? I've looked on a few insurance websites for quotes and they all say around $100 a month for basic insurance. Is it really this low?

A Honda accord would be an amazing first car. I am probably going to get one in a year or so. They look fantastic and it's a Honda so if you get one, it will last for while.

    I'm paying $1500 a year (16-19 y/o) for full coverage on an E46. $100 a month doesn't seem out of line.

Oh boy thats cheap... I pay roughly 2500$ in full coverage a year for the Polo and that's only because I'm 17... If I were older than 24 it would be half

insurance will always be higher for teenagers, and if you can drive stick make sure you get a stick one as the auto trannies are not the strongest (had a 1996 honda accord with a 4 cylinder and trans went out at 236k (i started driving that car with that mileage and 6 months later the trans started to slip and it was really bad at 239k) traded it in for a brand new jeep

Where do you guys live that your insurance is so crazy high? $100 a month for an Accord?! Seriously?

I am under 25 and I only pay about $31 a month for a flippin Corvette as my daily driver. No joke... 184 bucks every 6 months. For some basis on this I have my insurance through Progressive and I live in PA... does that have anything to do with it? I have no idea.

I pay $240 a month for full coverage on a Charger, with multi-car and a bunch of other discounts (including a spotless record for eight years). That's through Farmers, State Farm wanted to charge me (I shit you not) $860 a month through an affiliate of their's. I highly recommend calling the insurance companies and getting a quote from the actual agent that will end up being of service to you for the next few years.

Honda Accord? I really hate imports, but Honda is usually a solid choice, although most older Accords I've come across were used hard (more often than not not as someone's first car), and maintenance was mostly ignored. Be certain to thoroughly inspect any older model car you plan to buy, and check the odometer; high mileage cars aren't even a gamble, they will break soon.

Good point I think a good first car should be a Chevy Cobalt or a Toyota Corolla because they are so boring the cunts we call car insurance don't really price those car higher than a stoner comedy.

This is like that top gear episode. Get a boring, uninspiring car that "Looks" safe and its quite slow. (The accord fits both categories quite well). ((Note that the V6 is for highway pulls, not driving at 155 all the time))
Also, getting it insured is like when you go to a car dealer. Talk to a real person to get a real price. And you need to look trustable, or responsible.

I am 100% not trolling... I recently upgraded my policy to include a 95 Impreza as well under the same coverage (weirdly on its own it was 250 every 6 months or 42 bucks) so now for both cars I pay 356 every 6 months, or about 60 bucks a month... for an Impreza and a Corvette. If I need to upload something that proves it I will. You can already see under my account that I am under 25 as that is my real age (I don't know why I would lie about being younger anyways)
