The plot thickens. I don't think there's a name for that, besides ex-stepdad but that kind of implies that he isn't in your life anymore.
Yeah, I wouldn't say that's inaccurate, but I think "sister's dad" is a little less clunky and more specific. There are actually still one or two more layers of complexity to my immediate family. Small talk with people I don't know is a nightmare.
3rd year of University starts today, pretty hyped As for 3rd year projects, if all goes well hopefully I will be doing a game menu GUI that could potentially handle thousands of levels, or a track editor for racing games. Both of which have potential to be quite interesting.
I bought at a bookstore a car book for 19 dollars, and now i figured out its worth 100 dollars in its condition. Thinking of trying to sell it on ebay or amazon.
Cap's arrived today, all fully recapped except for the sub 1µF film capacitors that I forgot to order... Definetely hearing a bit more detail in the high end and the bass feels less sloppy and a bit more precise and punchy. Still not convinced that the Elna Slimic's are any better than your average low ESR capacitor though. Might replace the two big filter cap's if I can find any that will fit the original clamps. Leaking/ bulging cap I found in the power supply and it's replacement to the right.
Just discovered this awesome record store in the city (not gonna tell you which one ) and when I say record store I really mean that, they ONLY sell LPs and singles and although they are heavily focused on Punk Rock kinda music I was able to pick up an Electric Wizard and a Pink Floyd LP right away. And some of you be like "Duhhh what's the point? Just buy them on Amazon"...... and I'll be like "No."
A little record shop just set up in my town bought a few albums from him, problem I'm having lately is finding albums that haven't been destroyed by people with those cheap "Retro" Crosley record player things that track at like 6 grams, or just worn due to age. Worn records have this staticy sound that seems to follow the high end. This guy seems to sell really good condition records though and for £1 each!
Yeah, I heard about those "retro" crosleys or dual turntables, never really had to deal with them though.... thankfully. £1? That's insane. I payed 25€ only for the Wizard LP (It's the first pressing of the Black Masses album).
The older Dual turntables from the 60's - 70's where great, german made, idle drive beast's. A few years ago I had the chance to buy a Dual 1229 and passed on it, boy do I regret it.
Nevermind, Dual seems to still sell higher end turntables besides the rebranded Audio Technica decks. I remember seeing one of those really cheap turntables with the Dual brand though...
