Think positive. BeamNG has a bright future ahead. Let's just hope North Korea will never trigger the end of the world.
I'm sorry, but you lot really put that much trust in US-NK relationships? I wouldn't trust that mess you call a president with pocket change. And Mr. Big Mac 2001 over in North Korea will do whatever he wants, as it suits him. He just doesn't care.
Yeah, Trump and Lil' Kim actually have a lot in common. They're both narcissistic maniacs who hate America and likely have ties to Russia. OT: I hope that when BeamNG finally dies, the devs release the source code under the GNU GPL or something.
More likely, if the company dies, they will make the engine open-source. Imagine what people could do then?
I can't believe I am getting into this... I kinda agree with John Oliver, Kim seems to be acting in self-preservation first. By making himself look like the new big boy on the block he is hoping he won't be displaced by his own people and scare off other nations from acting first. That's not working very well, but that's just how the DPRK works... I don't trust our War Pig president at all either, but I don't see him getting away with anything stupider than words (because Donald has never managed to top our expectations of his Donald-ness). He wasn't exactly popular among his own party before Charlottesvile. He is going to have more and more resistance in the White House. Right now the most healthy thing for world peace is probably a roll of duct tape to stop Donald from talking so much. *famous last words*
Yeah. I just started thinking... And @KJP12 kind of got me thinking on this track from what I remember.
Yeah good luck with that, unless another game can support high poly Jbeam or something more realistic even if the game engine could support is right now computers can't support high poly jbeam because it would be too complicated
My thoughts when the company sort of runs dry... 1) They could license out their physics to other games when CPU's become more powerful, like GTA... 2) It could become like Rigs of Rods, opensource but just a bit cold 3) They could focus on classic cars or cars that are unreachable for the masses, so people can drive them with the best physics available, imagine in the future people paying loads of money to go in a gasoline car simulator with the Gavril Burnside Special as the car. 4) Maybe they could make Arcade machines, like the ones you see in amusments on piers and etc. 5) They could just fade out in history, i'll show my thoughts below... My thoughts... BeamNG is my favourite game because i love driving, i am 15 according to the government i am not mature enough to drive, driving on private land is great and all but it is bothersome for my parents etc. so why not learn how to drive stick and rev-match in BeamNG! it is fabulous, but there is one small issue, i will almost undoubtedly stop playing BeamNG when i get my first car, as the one thing BeamNG can't simulate is g-forces, they are absent as well you are sitting on an office chair. I presume most of the younger people are going to be like this, leave the game when they get their car for the same reasons i will... So BeamNG almost has a changing userbase, it is driven by the young (pun intended ) so unfortunately BeamNG might have to tailor to trends, so when gasoline engines go kaput (hopefully BeamNG outlasts these) the stock cars will be Electric, if cars start to fly then the devs will have to code flying cars, that is how to make the game attractive, remember the game is a one off purchase fee, not a rental game (no repeat business) so to get customers they will have to keep up. BUT they will not be able to in the future, like look at how apple, a market leader is making money on something completely closed source where you can't know what is going on inside.. this will happen to cars in the future, manafacturers will fail to disclose power and etc as one will win, competition for cars may cease un-expectedly as car companies shut down, manafacturers will become monopolies and then you can't boycott them for their wrong doing anymore, so simulators will be weeded out as no-one will know how cars will work in the future apart from the creators, who are probably sworn on secrecacy to prevent others from using their thoughts.(ill get onto thoughts later) Now for thoughts... thoughts can be money (maybe i should say ideas) this is great as the human race is constantly thinking and there is always someone who comes up with a new idea that changes everything, this in modern-day society is slowing though, for example look at all the kids films this year in the cinemas, they are almost all rubbish ideas (Emoji movie) or sequels (Cars 3 etc), this is only one area where progress of the human race is slowing, this is the start of something new, where everything is the same, a phone is a phone (like an iPhone) everything is "Adequate" and so as the corporations are not competing as one has dominated changes cease (look at intel for the past 10 years!) or are very slow but they decelerate as the reign of monopoly is kept active, like Core i7 920 to Core i7 2600K is a decent jump unlike Core i7 6700K to 7700K. Humanity is slowing... it will eventually become a disaster, like George Orwell's 1984, but this is no government, rather a corporation, these corporations will start to dictate everything we do, money will become less valuable as prices are hiked on everything due to lack of competition, savings will become useless as things start to become paycheck to mouth as luxuries become prohibitively expensive, anyone with a thought will be arrested by the "thought police" (1984) you will no longer be able to rebel as corporations know more about you than what you think what you might think is simply going to advertising is probably data being hoarded, so one company (the biggest at the time maybe?) can reveal a product that conforms to literally everyones needs, by addressing everyday problems or whatever as they have found by people's rants or discussions about life (c'mon these corporations now have access to your browsing history and other data) so this is how they become monopolies... That quickly turned into what capitalism became, i wonder what socialism will be like in a few years, i am a conservative, a right wing person (does not mean i am racist/homophobic/sexist) so i probably don't have the mindset of a socialist, but i think a global shortage of items would happen, everyone would go hungry as now the human race is thriving, but we are not sustainable in our little planet, it can only take so many humans..
Think on the bright side, BeamNG has a bright future ahead. I don't think they would be gone anytime soon.
By the time its 2050 the game will have moved on to other projects. Who knows. But even old games still has a community, seeing how big the community is on beamng im pretty sure this game will have a community for a very long time.
